** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Asus Strix OC bios but will work on any card inc FE (but again dont go over 1.15v and best on water)

Be advised not to go over 1.15v on air cooling though and also best used on cards with dual bios in case you brick it on flashing.

Apparently Asus gave their cards more volts and all the other AIB card makers to get to their advertised clocks.

Cheers, presume this is the one they added for download due to all that custom bios in review samples shizzle.

wow i cant even get one of them cards let alone two of them. how do people get these cards as ive been waiting since the release day and still not here. at this rate we will have the next gen of cards in before i get my pre ordered card :/

Ordered two of them at about 4pm on pre-order day (27th May) so I was lucky enough to be in the front of the queue.

Sold my 290x and it's in the post, so it's AMD 5850 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 for me until the SC's turn up (hoping for 70 this week, otherwise I'll be waiting another week!!)

im running on a R9 280x and have been for almost 3 months now since my 980ti seahawk died. I feel your pain. But I was 43rd in line for a SC this time last week so I should get one this wkd. Fingers crossed I'm now 3rd in the que.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we see <50 OC Strix every 1-2 weeks for the foreseeable future.

So divide your queue number by 50 and multiple it by 2 and that is probably a good estimate for when you will receive your card.

So for example:

(#200 in queue / 50 cards per delivery) * 2 weeks per delivery = 8 weeks until you will see your card.

Can't be power limit as the card would run the same speed at 50C and at 70C.

Its not the fall off a cliff throttling that occurs at 83C but is a slow reduction after 50C.

On 1080's people find that if you let the card go over 50C you loose 50Hz of your max boost. I think it drops again somewhere in the 60s as well. So the max boost under watercooled is always more than you get with air cooling.

You sure that doesnt happen on the 1070 as well?

So, esp when you add extra volts, to get your max OC of your card you need to keep it below 50C.

Heres one example of many I have seen on the net.

yes I get no drop over 50C, when I do see minor throttling its when power usage goes over 100%. (with 114% limit), power usage at 90% will throttle (if limit set to 100%). Also it drops 25mhz not 50.

All the delays and recent price hikes makes me happy that I bought a Founders for around £570 when I had the chance. Might pick up another one at some point for SLI once prices and stock stabilises.

I wonder what the chance is of them cancelling your pre-orders and refundunding you because they wont be able to afford to get the cards at the old price they sold them at and will end up making a huge loss if they have to fulfil all the pre-orders.

I would think that asus and other suppliers have to honour pricing at the time ocuk put in their own order, that would be very bad behaviour on the vendor's part to apply a price increase because they couldnt fulfill orders on time. That to me is a very odd way of doing business.
