** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

I lost all my hope to get the strix oc card but I stay strong and not change my order. If I waited almost 2 months now I dont want it to be for nothing. :( Hope I will get ahead a bit with everyone else going for different cards and when that 30 shows up I will get one of them. *Sigh... it just bugs me that Asus couldnt deliver 100 cards in this 1 and a half month but now they are delivering tons of non oc cards... Joke.

2 months is a **** take and the fact they're offering people the non oc card for the same cost? pathetic....

Asus this launch have been a shambles much like evga. They release the strix oc for pre-order at around £620 or £630, quickly realise their boost clocks are superior to everyone else's card then tack another £20-30 onto the price. From then on its just kept creeping up thanks to this "brexit" caper and barely any availability. Its went up around £130 from the pre-order price.

Its more than likely the cards coming tomorrow will easily do what their OC sku will do, its £55 cheaper so here's hoping that its not a dud, perhaps a bios dump of the oc applied to this will make it the same card out of the box.

Were giving customers options for those who are fedup of waiting Asus to ship stock. So its not pathetic were actually going out of our way to give customers options other than just waiting.

What would be pathetic would be to just remove the Strix OC and cancel/refund all the orders, maybe we should just do this then?

We will honour the orders and apply pressure to Asus daily and have informed Asus numerous occasion how poorly and how annoyed customers are they are taking so long to ship the OC cards in any decent volume.

We have done what we can to give customers options for those who want the option to not wait any longer.

You cannot buy a Gigabyte G1 for £619 or an Asus Strix at £619 any more, not even remotely close even for none OC parts. We are doing what we can to help.

Far from pathetic!

I wudnt say pathetic thats not fair, what is seriously a joke is certain manufacturers allowing orders to pile up probably giving OCUK and other retailers the thumbs up to send as many preorders as possible.

It's not the first time these companies have made cards they knew they wasnt able to deliver and certain companies like ASUS want to try and boast with a certain clock they cant even achieve.

It's their loss however companies like Zotac and Palit have certainly profited from the shortages and have even produced a arguably superior card.

I speak for myself though I probably won't preorder a graphics card again and not at the fault of OCUK Gibbo does update us as much as he can but i can understand when talking to the big tech corporations he probably gets more spin than someone facing Shane Warne :D

No its not. At least they try to help out everyone with strix oc on order with these options.

it's helping out yes, but they've waited 2 months for ASUS NOT ocuk as they aren't at fault here, to get an inferior product at the SAME cost, yes you can manually overclock it and granted they'll both do around the same speed that's not the point to a user who DOESN'T manually overclock it IS an inferior product, so you wait 2 months and get this for the same cost meh...

accept my apologies, I was a little harsh in my last comment, again as I state it isn't yourselves at fault here, it is ASUS, now the fact you're offering them the swap is good yes, though the point still lies they're getting an inferior product so it swings both ways but then again like you've said, you can't get a card for £619 I suppose so it's whether people want to wait or not. again accept my apologies, it's a good alternative yes, but untill supply catches up I personally think the oc version should be withdrawn from sale intill we know where we are with them, just my two cents :)

of course he does! not only him but all the reps here as well as forum members with the support they all offer is the reason why I will now use OCUK for my components, my first expensive purchase from them was my 980 Ti at £359, and compared to everyone else charging close to £400 they have great sales on.

Just spent the ending playing with my shiny new Amp Extreme. It's huge and managed almost 2.1GHz without me touching any settings. Very impressed and glad I took Gibbo's advice on Zotac. Probably going to buy another in a wee while and go nuts in 4k!

Some more 1080's now listed as in stock, MSI aero, MSI armor, Asus turbo. ANd a single seahawk with waterblock, as well as zotac amps.

The entire benefit of a preorder system is supposed to be so manufacturers know whey they stand on quantities needed to manufacturer for launch date, it takes the guess work out of demand.

What seems to have happened here is they waited until launch day or at least only a week or so before to start manufacturing the cards.

I can understand why ocuk have made the offer they did with the standard asus cards, but I also would be annoyed if I pre ordered one of those cards because the OC versions guarantees, the overclocked speed on the box, if it fails to achieve that clock stable then you can exchange.

I know from experience on my evga 970 ftw even what seems a low easy clock to reach is not a given. As that was sold as 1367 boost clock but out of the box could only hold around 1250-1300 when under heavy load.

Think of it thsi way, if every chip would reach those clocks with ease, why would asus even need to test the chips? they would be able to with confidence stick them on OC cards with the OC bios without testing.

Gibbo, you responded with some info on KFA2 HOF cards, is the eta for the sexy clown card end of the month too? An answer of no idea is fine if there's no info, I'll have to just put up with this crappy 960 I've temporarily downgraded to. Man I miss my 2x980ti, had I known there'd be this much delay on 1080s I'd have kept them another couple of months!

OCUK has been absolutely fantastic the entire way through.

Eventually got bored of waiting and swapped to the G1. Shows real class that they would honour the original Strix price instead of making me pay the difference.

You guys will have my business from now on.

Sorry OcUK but if you offer pre-orders, you have to keep your customers informed or offer alternatives sooner.

They are doing a better job than anywhere else i've seen, remember they are now making a loss on them thanks to Brexit... Be thankful Gibbo managed to swing any swap at all.
