** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Hey Kris Tst

I will sort that for you no problem at all and I will email an RMA number through to return it.

Please follow the instructions in the email and I will personally refund it for you.

Normal practice on items over 14 days is that we don't accept unwanted returns but I have no problem on this occasion due to the circumstances.

I hope this helps

Bailey

that low boost clock does not inspire confidence though matey.

It is because Zotac just like any other board partner putting waterblocks on cards cannot test an OC, this is because Zotac have no idea on the ability of your waterloop.

This is why the blocked cards typically have no OC, simple facts are Zotac AMP Extremes have being yielding the best results overall, so this card should do very well and certainly has a far better power design than the MSI Seak Hawk EK has and cost the same money. :)

Probably just been conservative.

But I see your point when you look at the air extreme though. And Zotac cherry pic chips I believe?

So perhaps you are just getting lottery chips on this watercooled card?

They are also binned, but Zotac use default clocks for reasons above, as they have no idea on the quality and performance of your loop.

Nice to see another manufacturer offering a out of the box water block card but it's a big shame they done it out of Aluminum.

Edit it appears it still uses copper to cool and the Aluminum is for aesthetics so might be okay.

If the water in the loop flows post some aluminium, then any loop with copper, nickel, silver or brass will not be ok.
I don't know much about water cooling. Why would they release such an expensive card if it's going to ruin people's blocks? Surely they and anyone else bothering to go into water cooling would know this?
Probably just a lack of research.

Have EVGA given any reason that supply of their cards is absolute pants?

ASUS have the excuse that they set unachievable clock speeds and the launch price was a misprice. However EVGA cards are mostly reference design with mild overclocks and fairly ordinary coolers. So why is it that every time I get a delivery estimate, when the time comes it gets delayed by 2-3 weeks. I can't even cancel as I have a 1080 waterblock waiting and every 1080 is £100 more expensive now cause of Brexit and other things.

The lesson i've take away from this whole fiasco is to never preorder. From now on i'll only ever order what's in stock.

Finally got my strix OC today and I have to say I feel glad I waited. Hits 2025 constant for half hour of full load with the fans not hitting over 2300 rpm or so after turning on OC mode. My case isn't the coolest and temps stayed in the 70s. Pretty quite too, my cpu heat sink is louder.

I was originally 107 in the queue when I asked a long time ago. They've delivered 42 since I believe and I got one.

Is that a genuine OC (1936 boost) and not a Gaming one?

I have a Gigabyte G1 from OCUK as I bailed but I also have a Zotac Extreme ordered elsewhere and I still have a preorder for the Strix OC. My wonder is whether to return the Zotac and hang on for the OC or not??
