** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

That depends on OCUK's arrangements with suppliers, if they choose to use a line of credit or not etc., what if they have ended up paying (if not all but at least some of the cost) to ensure they can make such large orders. I'm not saying that they have or haven't I have no knowledge of their business practices, but not everything is black and white. It isn't like they are sat there laughing and stroking a fat cat, counting all the interest they are making.

All businesses have a balance sheet to run and I don't think anyone should begrudge them taking pre-orders and money up front for something that is clearly in high demand.

They work hard with the suppliers and usually have the largest range and the highest stock levels. The customer service has always been great.

For those reasons I think I'd rather support this business than say the rainforest one.

So what you are saying here is I have to buy through the overclockers site to get anywhere in the queue? Because I have ordered my graphics card through the amazon payment option that means I keep getting pushed to the back of the queue? because overclockers can only take payment when my graphics card gets sent out.

I hope this is not true:confused:

I caved sick and tired of waiting - super poh-est nvidia launch in history, ordered a Gigabyte GTX 1080 FE, I will be taking off the cooler and WC anyway by the looks of the reviews (Asus strix) the extra VRM controllers/2x8 pin etc does nothing to aid performance, 2100 is about the max ceiling.

Canceling my FTW in the AM so someone can take my #11 spot :D

As much as I love the Nvidia reference design, I just can't justify the extra price for what appears to be in most cases an 'inferier' card, in regards to heat, noise and performance against the aftermarket cards.

At the moment it is the hybrid card from EVGA that I am interested in, yes more expensive overall, however the heat/noise/performance should at least be a lot better than the reference.

Fair as you are water cooling and enjoy :)

Yer, I think it is time for me to leave Vegas behind and look for an alternative but I like what I know (if that makes sense) and it doesn't take that long to render as long as I don't go for double passes and super high bitrates.

Nowt wrong with Vegas bro.

What version are you running ? Vegas pro is extremely powerful and easy to use.

Does Vegas Pro now recognise and allow use of Nvidia cards Maxwell and higher to render video's? Last time I tried it, it wouldn't recognise my 980's. Once I have my 1080's, I will probably be going back to using it.

Ah that's disappointing... Picked up a copy when I was studying music and video production at college, but have to admit that I haven't used it much due to that.

Can't say I noticed it myself, but then I've only really been keeping an eye on two or three. What ones in particular?

Well I've mainly been focusing on the Asus Strix and if you click on Page 1 of this thread the OP listed this card as:

Asus GeForce GTX 1080 DirectCU III Strix Gaming Aura RGB 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card @ £619.99 inc VAT

And when you click the link it now says £659.99 and I don't believe that's the only one either.

I am about to buckle and get an EVGA FE card.

My main concern was noise, but I have just compared it to my Gigabyte G1 970 and it is only 1db louder under load. Soure: Guru3d. Also I had them in SLI which would be louder.

Yep, that is what huge demand and hardly any stock will do though.

It seems only here sadly, the Other major players have pretty much remained the same.

I noticed one card an EVGA FE actually went down in price somewhere else and is in stock so sadly I had to go elsewhere and i'll have to buy my own haribo

Hope I haven't broken any rules saying that....

Ouch, big increase!

I can't believe you caved:eek:

I'm holding strong. Playing Uncharted 4 on PS4 and some Battlefield 4 on Xbox One. This should hold me until EVGA FTW (I hope?)

I think keeping myself busy with family and gaming on consoles has been the key for me at least for not caving. I want my EVGA FTW damn it:(

Hope all goes well with your Gigabyte FE mate.

Thanks man, I know me too, but thought if there any more delays that would be an annoying 1st world problem.

I figured by the time the 1080 Ti comes out I will upgrade to that as it will be astounding and this is just a project card. I should not have sold my 980 Ti so soon and it will be the first and last time I sell my gpu before I get a replacement.

Ordered my card at 7pm and is in the post right now :D
