** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

I also paid by Paypal, but what's confusing me is if OcUK can't tell us where we are in line, how are they going to send them out in the right order compared to CC/DC payers?

OCUK know the queue order when it's paypal or not. Looks like their sick of getting calls and messages about it. I say we have a right to know. Everyone has paid lots of money for one of these.

Maybe OCUK should have done it a bit differently? Like the min you order the card you know the queue number in a email. Would have stopped everyone calling. The whole 1080 release are been a complete mess. I hope they learn and do something about it next time?

lol I doubt it though

I think OCUK have done well with all the requests about queue numbers. They certainly have had a lot of them.

Perhaps paying by Paypal the queue number isn't available straight away or maybe the guy on the phone just simply didn't know how to find out.

Yep i have said before a complete mess not even the 980ti was this bad

I wish the manufactures would just make sure there is enough stock 10 fold and then launch.....

But it would not surprise me if its another dirty sales trick create a buzz no stock makes it and wanna have it kind of thing.... free advertising is free advertising

From the review of the Strix looks like the most they could get out of it is about 2100.
(OC3D Review)

So no real point with no FE, but FE is hot and expensive.

You're kinda right, the way I look at this (It is my opinion so it's probably wrong :D) NVidia priced the FE far higher than the "Reference/budget" models and even some of the AIB boards so naturally they have a bias to sell these over the cheaper board partner models. Also they have had the manufacturers held on till the last minute to be supplied with the parts needed to make the cards so they can't get them out immediately after the FE cards so they are more likely to sell their more expensive ones. Not only does this give them the advantage as FE cards are just stock packaged in the respective partners box but it also creates anticipation and demand which are a cog effect and just amplify to create more sales. As for a business model (If my opinion is right) I have to respect it as it lets them "have their cake and eat it" so to speak by using price skimming :)

Once again, this is my opinion and as such may be wrong :D

For sure Nvidia have supplied there higher priced FE cards in plenty of units whilst the other manufacturers quite obviously were only allowed to release stock and who knows manufacturer stock after the FE released.

Which basically means Nvidia are milking it all before AIB cards can get on the market. Which is fine for them and the people that want to buy FE cards but is a big shame for the others and for customers who want the AIB cards!

Damn. Hundreds of thousands of pounds is sat in ocuks bank accounts accruing interest while they have a boat load of frustrated customers who don't even know when they're going to receive their cards.

This is why I never preorder from here. The rainforest only take money when they are ready to dispatch. Some people on here gave their money to ocuk almost 2 weeks ago.
