** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

" Only £524.99 inc VAT."
Who was it saying that the AIB partners would [not] sell less than the FE price, LOL. How wrong they were.

EDIT: Missed out an important word

Oh please stop with the smug condescending attitude.

They did make a valid argument, why would AIB sell their cards lower than the reference card if their cards were better in every way. It was a genuine worry for some people on this thread.

Now people "only" have to pay £525 for the mid range card

It just shows what a BS move the founders edition is from Nvidia. Just to make the other cards look like good bargains.

And people are buying the founders edition!! after all that has been said about it. Nvidia are now the Apple of the GPU world.

The EVGA Hybrid looks to have at least 8+6 pin. Looks perfect :) Definitely going to wait for it.

It's a win-win situation to be honest. If people buy the FE at the ridiculous price, it's a win; if the ridiculous price of the FE manage to psychologically tricking people into seeing the average £570+ (still overpriced) 3rd party card as a "bargain", it's still a win for them.

With said and done, the non-FE card being $599 that people keep quoting is ended-up being nothing but marketing BS. £570 take away the VAT, convert back to dollar it is still around $699, and nowhere close to the $599 mark.

Well i've taken the plunge and pre-ordered the MSI Gaming 1080!!

Upgrading from a 7970 (not the GHz edition).

It's been a fantastic card and for 1080p it still is. However I bought myself a shiny new 4k IPS monitor and as soon as I saw Skyrim in full 4k modded glory, I knew I needed playable frame rates ASAP!

Hoping to get a good OC with these cards! Custom cooling and an extra 6-pin power connector should help.

I was amazed at how slow the website was. I guess so many people wanting to order crushed it lol :D I am really pleased with that FTW price and that was the card I was after, so win win :)

Nice

At least the price of these has kept the second hand value up. I should be able to get a decent return now on my Titan X when I have finished doing all the benchmarks for both

If you were looking to stay at stock over clock speeds, is there any reason to go for the FTW over the SC. The price difference is quite a bit considering the difference or am I missing something.
