** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Just don't want that feeling I should have spent the extra when games get better and the high graphics option cant be used ...

Tho now I am looking at the HOF as it white and would look well in the white case.

Tho think its going to kill me having the waiting game again the Vive was bad enough :-(

Right now most "Made for VR" experiences don't target high end systems, they also don't give you many/if any graphics settings to play with. A GTX 970 is enough for 90% of them. Then you come to games that have VR added, things like Project Cars and Elite. These not only give you the options to play with but also require as much brute force as they can get.

I currently have 2x 970s and am going for a 1080 to gain a bit of overhead.

so Spajtakus is the 1st , JamesieBond is 2nd and Muz333 are you the 3rd ?

I'd be surprised if I was the third. I ordered over wifi while visiting my parents and didn't realise the payment hadn't been processed. By the time I did and sorted it out over the phone it was Friday the 3rd.

While I understand it hasn't been the most popular model so far I doubt I'd be only the third to order in about a week of preordering.

Did you ask about 17th ETA ? or anything else CS told you ? Thanks

ps. it seem that 1080 Xtreme isn't their first choice so not many ppl order the card.

Yep, they said ETA is 17th June but I will be very surprised if all the brands will be in stock on the same day. Another 4 days left to find out.

Still no idea when my Inno3d X4 is going to arrive

Originally 10th, then changed to 17th, I just want to know so I can order the rest of my build ;)

Get in touch with Mystic Meg, seems thats about your best bet since allocation numbers are unknown and dates are sketchy to say the least. :p

Hi Guys.
I don't see many people excited about Gigabyte's Xtreme Edition which was top seller with previous gen GPU's. Did anyone pre ordered 1080 from them ?

Gigabyte is basically reference PCB always. Great cooler but no real benefit from reference in terms of pcb layout or power delivery.

Well I have a 780Ti and its coping but on Hover Junkers I cant set it to high

So thinking I am in need of that upgrade to get the most .....

sounds like a 1070 would do the job but I always hate that feeling should I have gone for the 1080.

in terms of games .. this VR has made is so much better.

Just thinking will developers get better and use more as they are now working with the GPU market with lots of ram and speed over what was out before.

Richard

Just the good old do I wait a bit and see what offers come out in a month or 2 tho not expecting much more then a few quid and id sooner enjoy my VR

I think a great cooler is all we can ask for if we aren't putting it under water. Doesn't seem like any of the cards are going to have performance gains compared to an overclocked founders edition.

Are you sure you are referencing the proper card? The Gigabyte Xtreme has a full custom PCB, dual 8-pin, LED lights on dual 8-pin, 2x internal HDMI 2.0 ports at the power end of the card. Probably the most custom 1080 out there.

Spoke to a very helpful CS rep this morning on the phone about my EVGA SC order - apparently I'm 12th in the queue so very hopeful for 'batch 1'... Shame they didn't come in yesterday but holding out for this week some time!
