OcUK, I'm confused and worried

I'm not bothered if a few components are maybe cheaper elsewhere, I buy everything from OcUK, I'm paying for top notch quality service. When I've called up, they've always been really friendly and helpful, I've had to RMA a bad set of RAM and it was back within a few days.

I trust OcUK, that's all there is to it.

Overclockers used to be down right awful for customer support in my opinion if i'm honest, they were fine until something went wrong then good luck getting a peep out of them.

Over the past year however there has been a noticeable improvement in that department, I've also noted a few mentions on the forum of customer services being their 'current focus'. IMO this has paid off and i'm now more than comfortable to buy products from here. I've had one experience with their 'new' customer services involving a faulty hard drive caddy, i got replies to my emails within an hour, a replacement was sent to me within a week and the postage costs at my end were refunded promptly. Many would argue that 'that's to be expected of a company', they're right, it should be, but i'm merely trying to point out that overclockers is no longer deserving of the questionable reputation many used to hold against it.

In short, they're a good retailer and i wouldn't be worried purchasing from them.

Oh and, the customer services forum is great.

I think it's worth mentioning at this point that OcUK used to excel in customer service too, before the bad period. Luckily for me, their bad customer service period coincided with my "too poor to buy new hardware" period, so I missed it :)

I bought a system earlier this year. It came with some bent pins on the CPU (Happened in transit) I got in touch with them on these forums, and I had a replacement CPU the very next day, along with some thermal paste. Can't argue with that, really.

I bought a Titan Goliath system in August this year and have been extremely happy with it so far.(zero crashes/bsods, cable management real good, temps good and it's very very fast.)

I am even planning to buy a 2nd pc in Jan for my mother from here.:)

OCUK isn't the cheapest, but when you buy cheap, you buy twice. There was a justified opinion of poor customer service at one time, but that changed ages ago. Everything I've bought has been pretty plain sailing apart from a graphics card which was sorted with a minimum of fuss. At the time I was dreading having to deal with an RMA going on what I read in the past, but it turned out all very well in the end.

Would I buy from OCUK? Yes.
Would I recommend to others? Yes sure.

Have been buying all my computer stuff from them for years, no complaints. Really like the free delivery for forum members too, kind of makes it all the more tempting to order smaller items on impluse (which I'm sure is the idea :) )

Am a little peeved they have moved premesis now, as previously they were only a 2 minute drive away and now it's a good 25 mins :(

Also remember a while ago when they had some very tasty chicks working the front desk area too, that's a plus in my book too :)

I heard bad things originally, but just look at the customer support you get not just over the phone/webnote but in the forums is second to none.

Ive had problems with a couple of things in the past and OCUK happily sorted them out. Now they use DPD instead of DHL the delivery service is much better.

Dont listen to those reviews, instead look at the reviews from the main page of this site at some of the products.

Yep, the free delivery is a great incentive, not that their delivery charge is excessive to begin with, another etailer that i used to use charged me £16.00 for delivery on two fans at £13.00 each, i know im in n. ireland and all, but it did seem very excessive.

Probably Anti-OCUK sites.

free delivery is good, especially if you are only ordering something for like £20 quid or so

Even better when ordering something for £4.99 like I did this week. Shipping was £1.90 (second class) but I got free delivery (first class!!) and that saved 38% of the cost, not counting the fact it was 1st rather than 2nd!

This is why OcUK will always get my business if there's not much in price. I've gone elsewhere this year for ONE component. It was £150 at OcUK but £70 elsewhere, so it was a no brainer. The price has since come down here though.
