OcUK Jonathon Palmer Day - Drive an M3 GTP, Clio CUP, 911, Caterham 7 and more...

Wait till everyone comes back on after, raving about it. Can see more people wanting to give it a go.

Might b-able to make the trip down next time if it happens again. :)

I've paid, but going on Bear's suggestion, I did that before they sent me the invoice.
So I'm now waiting for confirmation that they've received payment as it was sent without the invoice reference :p

I deny all knowledge of any supposed suggestion. That said after I paid, they sent an invoice a few days later along with a brochure

I have to say, the bunf is, for once, not bunf. Excellent booklet.

Just as well though, considering the cost of the experience!

What are people doing accommodation wise? ~3.5 hour drive for me but don't fancy two nights down there. Will probs drive down the night before after work then drive home after the event. Be good to share the same accommodation of anyone else staying over though :)

Im booked into the Bedford Travelodge (family room) for Friday and Saturday nights, I am only staying the Saturday night if the earlier mentioned idea of going for a post-event drink/meal happened.

I'll be out whatever happens, my best mate is back from Bristol so we shall be drinking. OcUKers are also expected :D

I take it this place is the one on Kimbolton Road near Brickhill? A short taxi ride from town but not too far, and a large Sainsburys is down out the bottom of the hill for any supplies.

I'm meant to be saving for a rainy day, but I'm so tempted to throw down the gauntlet on this...

It always rains, thus you will be unable to save. Get booked on :D

Sharnbrook Hotel is worth a look for accomodation as it is only about 5 mins away.

But a complete PITA and £££ to get back to from town should you be coming out.

That travelodge has parking and it's really easy to get to the track from there, just down the hill to the roundabout , turn right, go past sainsburys and your on the A6 heading out.

Location wise in terms of both access to the track at Thurleigh and Bedford town lash in the evening, the travelodge wins!

Yes indeed. I didn't know you guys were planning on going out. Although I can't say I ever enjoy a night out in Bedford. Lol.

Well a shared taxi heading out that way wouldn't be too bad if heading via that travelodge.

I used to always cringe when told we ere going out, but in general it's always been a good night. The Rose is a good pub to be in, but the clubs on the other hand :(:confused::eek:

So for beers it's good enough and us Bedfordians can lead you to the right places.

Yeah that is true. Just make sure at the Rose that you buy a couple of drinks because of the massive queues (friday/sat) ;)

Sorry for the OT but are you from Bedford way but are now working in Aberdeen? I live in the Bedford area and work at Palmers during Uni holidays :)

Agree with you on the saturday night, it can get deep in there. Fridays I've never had the problem.

Yup, Bedford born and bred, lived there for 26yrs ish (discounting uni and working in London for a bit). Moved up to Abz a few months ago for work but still come down there regularly to see family and friends down in St Albans and London.

I did some work for Paragon over the palmersport main straight hill straight after uni, just driving cars around different areas. We used to pop our heads over the hill at lunchtime and watch cars blatting it around @ Palmersport :D Working @ Palmerposrt must be good fun, a truely great student holiday job!
