Hello Forum.

Why am I being kicked, again and again when I join an "OCuK" server?:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I join and am removed? I don't normally have time to say / do anything?!

Do we have new servers? I always thought that the OCuK ones were good, but recently haven't been able to play!
 
Its hard to give a reason why if no-one knows what your ingame name is. And since there are currently 8 OcUK servers at least it kinda helps to know which/when.

If you mean the 8v8 servers theres probably a good reason for it. If you mean the other servers, the admins either have a good reason or lose there powers (so i understand).
 
As stated, time and server please.

As far as I know, very few people are currently banned from the servers. However, yesterday we had some technical issues so you may have had problems...
 
as said its very rare for people to be kicked from the servers as the admins tend to be fair and to be honest there is normally very few people that deserve kicking.

Personally i haven't ever kicked someone or even seen one of the other admins abusing their powers (unless defrag deserved it ;))
 
I've been kicked several times.

No reason other then joining it seems, games that have just started, or midway through :confused:

On a random selection of OCuK servers.

Really Really dissapointing / annoying.
 
Next time make a note of the time, server and who you're playing with. It's impossible for us to investigate when you don't really provide any details.
 
i can feel your pain, 3 of us on for the 8v8 sunday got on nice and early to get a space and got kicked several times and 1 of us ended up not getting on. So he had to go play something else.
 
Are you entirely sure they were OcUK servers? I can't say i've ever seen you on and i don't think of any of the admins would abuse there position. And are you definatly been admin kicked and not kicked for server crash or by the players...? And was it with publics?

All of the admins are players who have probably been the most frequent and long standing players in the OcUK L4D group and have always maintained a fair game.

Plus admins themselves are watched over by the mighty Frenchtart and LinktoInsanity


The only reason i could even imagine someone being kicked is for the fact that someone has crashed and you have ended up in their place but there is always a message sent to the player on the ingame chat asking them if they would mind leaving first.

Just out of interest have you been kicked by the admin or is it a general votekick?
 
If you are talking about a general votekick, then if you were on OcUK 4+5 then they are public servers so randoms often play. Some jerk tried to kick me from one of the public l4d1 games the other day. Was quite funny (as admins are protected) so i let him off the first time and booted him on the second attempt. I wouldn't mind, except the server was called [OcUK] - 5 - Link to Insanity's Server :p I wouldn't join those games unless there are other ocukers on them (as sometimes ocukers end up on them anyway) or you are an admin/are really bored with no1 on the private servers and want a quick round.

OcUK 6 should NOT be directly joined unless there are at least 7/8 people on there already, as you need to connect via lobby otherwise Versus mode doesn't work. I kept telling the players on the server to wait for the lobby to connect so had to keep resetting the server until they got the message. I appreciate it's a little harsh but if I didn't do that, no1 would get on 8v8.

If it is neither of these two situations then make a note of the time and place and the other players on (if you can, I recommend getting hlsw for this and adding our server IPs) and contact me or Frenchtart. If any admins are abusing their powers (I doubt it) they will lose them pretty quickly. :)

Also bear in mind that due to things beyond our control sometimes servers do crash. This also often leads to a boot.
 
It was not a server crash.

I was removed a couple of times by public vote, no reason given.

Infact one admin said that we were breaching the Valve Anti Cheat thing, and I just thought "what a ****" and left.

I only join the [OCuK] Link to Insanity servers, Maybe the other ones but I've had problems on them all.

Sucks, I really really enjoy this game. For the last 3/4 days I've had no luck been able to get a stable server (other then with Killswitch).

I thought when admins spoke on the servers it was just normal chat, and there wasn't a way to make it just says Admin : ....

OcUK admins don't call themselves admin. At least none i've ever seen have.
If an admin was trying to get your attention he'd do it via console so you KNOW the admin was there.
Just what the hell about the VAC comment...

Theres a list of the OcUK admins on the MOTD on startup if i recall on all servers.

ocuk server don't say admin, they either say the names or don't say anything as it's through rcon.


I think you've joined another server by mistake.

Was deffo an OCuK server.

It wasn't someone playing called Admin, if that makes sense, it came up in white writting ect ect.

I've been removed too many times now :(

I have in my list the OCuK link to insanity ect ect servers? These are the only ones I play on? Or are there other servers?
 
I think this needs investigation.

IE: steam friend add to a few admins, and follow/accept an invite.

Sorry but I really doubt ocuk admins would be complete dicks, and we also have the main admins of the server saying what you explain is IMPOSSIBLE to do on their servers kind of makes me trust them more. Also you saying you can't be bothered to join anymore.... something fishy is going on.

It sounds like your motd isnt refreshing and its joining random servers :/ ?
But as I said, add some guys and follow/accept invites and youll play, thats the only way i play l4d2 when people spam me for THREE HOURS A NIGHT WHEN IM DOING UNI WORK :D

The only jip i've come into on ocuk servers is when they are lobbied and have a reserve spot for someone, then its me who gives people who join hell! (in a jokey way ofc)
