OcUK Mafia game thread - Game 2

(Sorry for the late post!)

Once more you all rise, however this time the Mafia have indeed struck, offing Egon while he slept. Now is the time to avenge him!

Now it is Day 3. You have until 10PM on Friday 31st January to decide who to lynch. The remaining players are:

Brabbinho
Psymonkee
kaiowas
Shamikebab
Pookie Bear
K1LLSW1TCH

Can I move out of town? No, I thought not. Imagine how much worse it would be if the mafia had actually woken up on night one.

Anyway, principles got Egon killed in a blatantly obvious attempt to get Kaiowas the blame, while the real mafia walk around with giant grins barely hidden from their faces, knowing that they convinced at least one person to help them lynch a townie yesterday.

My only suspicions at the moment are Psymonkee and Kaiowas. Psymonkee because he was very quiet on day 1 and might simply have 'missed' the night time window. Kaiowas because...I'm not sure. Just a hunch really, but it seems like he might be the type to avert suspicion with the murder-less first night. He's also been very calm throughout.

I'm at a loss as to how people aren't seeing what I'm seeing. I must be either psychic or completely bat**** crazy.

My bear-sense hasn't been set tingling by Kaiowas, but Psymonkee set mine off on day one (hence my first vote). Brabbinho, however, has had my "he's a mafia member" nerve screaming at me since his vote at the last minute on day one. He's changed his approach every time he's challenged, only actually denied my accusations after I ridiculed his lack of denials multiple times and is now playing the "I'm an innocent townie and you'll feel bad if you lynch me" card.

Actually, I have a beard - I just wanted to make four bullet points in my original accusation and couldn't think of another reason :eek:

For whatever reason, you've not come up on my mafia-radar at all, Shami. So either you're a townie or you're an excellent sneak. I'm going for the former - no offence :D
 
Pookie, what you're saying does make a little bit of sense and I can see the logic in it but you have to consider another perspective to all of this. Egon being killed may not have been a ploy to divert attention at all, it's possible that Kaiowas is in the mafia based on a couple of things which have already been said:

Now, it may be a clever attempt by a third party to pin blame on him, but Kaiowas has not covered himself in glory here. I'm going to wait until everybody has weighed in before I make my final decision though.

You got that bit right, I fully expected to be woken this morning by a bloodthirsty mob breaking down my door and I'm relieved that so far everyone is keeping their head.

My point about Egon would only have been valid had Gooner been mafia as I saw enough signs to be sure that they were on the same side. Once it became clear I was wrong about Gooner I had no reason to believe Egon was anything but a townie, had he survived the night I'd have still been looking elsewhere today.

I was wrong about both of them and I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the town turned on me but it would be a mistake that would ensure victory for the mafia.
 
That's an interesting point but I'd like to hear from Psymonkee and Brabbinho before I decide who to vote for. I can see your point about only going after Egon if it turned out he was in league with Leroy, as Leroy turned out not to be part of the mafia I can see how that suspicion would now have died down. It could have been a double bluff however as you're quite a calculated individual.

That's just my two pence though and I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts before I cast a vote in any particular direction.

By delaying your vote, you're not putting pressure on anyone. Support me and vote now - before long we'll see where the battle-lines are drawn when the mafia see the net closing around them.

Well, you did contribute to Gooner's death. Get behind my vote and you'll not need to worry about me being a part of any mob at your door. I back those who back me.
 
Pookie I'm not comfortable with the way you're trying to canvass our votes, I'd rather wait until everybody has had the chance to speak rather than be led blindly by somebody who may have a motive for doing so... :p

I think you're backing the wrong person by following Pookie's lead and we'll end up lynching yet another townie if Brabbinho is killed. Pookie's suspicion seems mainly based on the fact that Brabbinho has a beard and voted late on the first day. Surely if he were mafia and he was around late then there would have been an assassination that day also!

I'm eager to hear what he and Psymonkee have to say on the matter, I think voting at this moment in time would be premature to say the least.
 
Pookie has been unswerving in his desire to lynch Brabbinho for some time now and has shown some conviction. If he was Mafia he'd be happy to lynch any of the town but to be this focussed on one person tells he knows something. I think I've got a pretty good idea of who everyone is in this town now. It's just down to a choice of 2 for the second mobster. Actions over the next day or so will hopefully make things clear one way or the other.

A lynch mob is nothing but a less well-organised mafia - the biggest difference is that I'm doing everything out in the open!

The bottom line is, I'm utterly convinced and since we're so low on townies, I can't see his accomplice backing me. You are, I'm pretty sure, one of the good guys, which is why I'm trying to get you on my side!

False. I've said twice now that the beard comment was merely filler - I have one myself - however he, and now you, insist on using that to try and invalidate my position! It was the late vote, the changeable position, the lack of denials and the recent playing of the "pity me" card which have made him my one and only true suspect. It must be said that you've propelled yourself up the list of suspected mafia members, so I no longer expect any support from you. As for the others, yes, their vote will either exonerate or implicate them.
