OcUK Mafia game thread - Game 3

This is so frustrating. I didn't vote on day 1 to keep townie numbers up (which fails abysmally), Jedi then points out lynching a townie can be useful. If KILLSW1TCH changes his vote then I could as well and keep numbers up depending who he changes to. But then how much to rely on Jedi's advice?

Jedi didn't say lynching a townie could be good. He said lynching Fortyseven could be good so we could know for certain his role and then move on.

Indeed, I hadn't considered how game breaking it could be if the roles were picked instead of assigned at random. However as you've just said it's only in the region of a 5% chance of being picked twice in three games I am happy to personally rule Brabbinho out at this moment in time. He hasn't really done anything to arouse my suspicion and statistically is not likely to be a mafia member either!

But you've just voted for Pudney. The odds of him being town last game and mafia this game are just under 18%, I can't understand how you could be so sure about Brabbinho based on apparently nothing but superstition

I think if I switched my vote to GhostWKD a lot of people would agree. Still not sure if this is the best way to go.

Why vote for someone just to go with the crowd? Makes you seem a bit suspect K1LLSW1TCH

The second day I was one of the earlier players to vote for Jedi but the way he conducted himself was just TOO open and it felt to me like he was trying to play a game with that honesty. Lots of other people agreed otherwise he wouldn't have been lynched so I don't really think it's fair to single me out for that. On that basis I'm going to change my vote to Pudney, so:

Vote: Pudney

Harsh, I even said I thought I was just trying to find a reason!

Well, I could change my vote now but seeing as I believe Fortyseven is a townie I'm entirely reliant on the (so far) non voting people of not tipping it over the edge to potentially kill him.

It's not based on superstition, like you already established Brabbinho is very unlikely (though not impossible) mathematically to be a mafia member in this game. Pudney has thrown accusations my way several times in the past 24 hours, mostly based on day one where somebody has to be lynched anyway, and then on day two where pretty much everybody voted for Jedi yet somehow I was singled out for that.

Of course it's possible for us to not lynch anybody on day one, but then when the mafia definitely will make a kill that night would it not be better to take the random chance of killing a mafia member with what would surely be a random lynching anyway? This is why I've said somebody has to be lynched on day one, I just feel it's better than doing nothing and one of the townies being killed in the night regardless.

Right now it looks like Brabbinho is headed for the noose and I'm not sure I can do anything to stop that, I'm sure he's a townie but no way to prove it other than letting an innocent man die :(

Killswitch has done some odd things in the last few hours:

  • Votes for Brabbinho, then admits he was following the crowd
  • Changes vote to Pudney (based on little more than Pudney being suspicious of him?)
  • Claims that he is sure Brabbinho is innocent based on....assumptions about not being mafia two games in a row

That's a hell of a flip flop.

I'd switch to Ghost if it was worthwhile as I'm certain he is mafia. In fact sod it

Vote: Ghost

It certainly is a lot of flip-flopping and I'd have to say it looks very suspicious! Then again if everyone voted for him to meet the noose then surely we are all just following the crowd?

Ugly situation! :(

Hoora.....y /o\

Damn right I'm town, and proud with it :)

So why did you not vote for egon on day 1 if you wanted to ensure a lynching? You were secOnd to vote so why not follow brabbinho and vote egon to confirm that a lynching on day 1 (which you've stated you wanted never mind who it was) took place?

You sir stink of mafia.
