Hey dudes, trying to log into Minecraft; can open it fine but as soon as it gets to 'Mojang Systems' it just closes and produces a bug report.

get the 32 bit version of java.

Heyo Guys - i just bought minecraft this morning, already addicted.

i can has be added to whitelist please? (minecraft username: Cypher_Aod)

are there any general-purpose strategies for dealing with Creepers other than to run away? i've been playing single-player and i had constructed an elaborate glass facade for my house which was then promptly destroyed by a creeper or three that had been waiting for me overnight :mad:

yeah im building a seaview castle, on the cliffs. Just outside the plot

iv'e built my tree plots already, this is built inside the cliff with a glass roof to let the sun in.

im also building a farm, crops and Armoury.

if anyone wants some cobble look in the sea and help yourselves.

First off you need to have your building fully lit, this is done by building torches inside & out, the best way to kill creepers is at distance and this is done by crossbow, if the creeper starts hissing "move back" as there is a radius of how close you can get

Yeah they always make me jump, and the sound they make is so creepy. And they take quite a lot of health, at one point i had 2 after me i had to /tp home otherwise i would have died, also digging up and reached the top and a creeper fell down the hole and killed me.

so they stay away from the light? good to know - they've been clustering around my skylight so i'll carpet the area in torches

i keep building my houses into mountains/hills. Is it better to build them freestanding in the open?

if you have farm animals around your building where theres torches thats a good sign

I'm having difficulty finding any Iron ore - I've tunnelled all the way down to the bedrock (altitude 0) and i've not found any Iron ore in my explorations - though i have found Redstone ore.

what sort of altitude is Iron Ore generally found at?

Anywhere underground really. Its brown, in case you haven't realised that yet

look in the new areas, there is far more iron there than in the old area's like spawn
