i've tried a frew times over the last few days, managed to update to 1.3 but i cant connect now. bleh, they need to sort it out

Yeh but how do I get it to work on 1.2 since it's obvious I can't use 1.3 cause I cannot log into minecraft.net AND play on the server cause it's 1.2...

ok heres the steps

1st get 1.2_2 files (i can send these too you if you don't have them)

2) replace these files with the ones in your %APPDATA% but you only need to replace:

bin
resources

and thats it

if it goes wrong (which is highly unlikely given how simple the downgrade is) just delete the bin file and it will re-download everything

I am on 1.2 still, I can't login cause Minecraft servers are crap as usual.

I want to stay on 1.2 and have map generator.

he want to be able to use the seed creation of maps.
You need to find a map generator that lets you change the seed.

Version 1.3 let you do this from the create new world
but this was not easily done for 1.2 as you need a 3rd party software
I dont know of any that does this.

well then theirs no need to change, the DOWNGRADE is only if you have 1.3 installed so you go down to 1.2. MC servers are annoying atm but all we can do is wait...
