All the colours seem to look a bit odd.
Lol has it been that long since you had the original installed?
I switched over to MixcraftHD pack recently, it's pretty good, uses 32x32 instead of 16x16 so I believe there is more detail.. Which is nice.

nah its normal textures, just messing in ps and trying a different screen caprute program too.

ive started a city project on my server with a few friends, drawn up a plan and it will have 10, 16 x 12 plots to build on, 3 main roads and 8/10 side streets. only started tonight. i think we are making office buildings/ sky scrapers in the city.
heres a pic of the plan, will get screenies up of the progress if anyones interested, tough night though, had to do all the work alone so far =/

Had a look at the floor, what covering you got in mind? see you are raising it up by one block but couldn't work out why, we are still a few blocks above bedrock so can go down for lava channels if needed and thought the entry stairway would end level with the floor though this is easy to alter if needed.
For the actual platform the portal stands on I thought making it the same dimensions as the auto generated portal floor on the other side might be an idea. Kinda stuck at the moment until we work out the detailing.
