OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

I have played on another big server that had atleast 20 online most of the time. The spawn was just a box with some rules made from adminium so mobs couldn't break in. Then people built their buildings/houses around that so it turn into a town. You can't force people to go to somewhere they didn't build as people want to build their own locations. The spawn is really only there for new people unless you add an economy mod and make the spawn area more of a shopping area.

One option would be for windle to do the '/bbtp 'x' 'y' 'z' - Teleports you to (x, y, z)'
command say 10,000 blocks away from spawn, set a warp point there then all you need to do is type in the warp name & your 10,000 blocks from spawn where all the new mats will be.
Put in a rule that no building is allowed there & it's only to be used for finding new mats. to get back to your home do /home or /spawn or /tp to a players name.
 
I think all the Spawn area needs is to be safe, have something to help new players and a rail system that you can extend if you wish. A community spawner would be nice as well.

I think the idea of having to teleport a long way away is pretty stupid.
 
Whoever phil21191 is, can you please not cut down trees around buildings. If you want wood, go out into the middle of no where and chop them down.

Trees placed around/next to buildings are usually planted as a feature.

Even more annoying when people go for those big trees with loads of branches and leave a massive blob of tree floating in the sky.

Quite a good time on server2 today, was a good bit busier than normal.
There is a ridiculous amount of coal on this map... :|

Only problem is the ravaged spawn area from creepers, if only we were able to rebuild it. :(

Whole house taken from me. :( The chest and torches and all torches in underground tunnel gone.
I dumped some torches around the spawn area in the mild hope that there are less creepers there now...
 
Decent night on server 2, few more building are up now. It might not be a well planned metropolis, but at least you know people have been online. :)
Any chance protection can be turned off at the spawn point so we can fix the creeper damage? (Swiss cheese style spawn point now :eek: )

Sorted someone's damaged house... Dunno, who it belongs to. (Wooden, 2 floors, stone slab ground floor)
