If you just touch it you go on fire which will go out itself eventually but will cause damage. If you fall into a pit whilst digging it's unlikely you'll get out so you'll die and lose your stuff
 
Windle, sorry to bother you but i think a few people from previous pages are still waiting to be whitelisted. Just if you are away for a while would it not be best to add them now? :)

bump mapping needn't take anything away from the simplicity of the visuals, that's not really the aim. It's just to kick them in to touch so to speak. it's really down to the texture pack author who they do with it.

I agree with a few people though, i always end up back with the default textures because everything else looks wrong. However, default textures with bump mapping and parallax occlusion? sign me up!

That will kill framerates, as it would have to load each texture, imagine how long it would take for the game to load.

also to process all the shadows, as theres soo many high buildings, also caves with torches would bounce light.
