OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

well the other servers him an link run have always worked great, and you wouldn't be tied to mp's version of bukkit etc so might be able to get the bbhere working properly on it so that the players actually could police the server themselves instead of having to ask you an gars which then gets thrown back as whining and told to do it themselves which they can't do because bbhere is broken.

ah nice to hear it is back up.

If there is anything i can do to help let me know

I know i am only here a very short while and would be one of those members with a low posting count :( but i hope i have been seem to be a good member of the server. I am always willing to give aid where i can.

would not like to loose out to player with a group i have so far come to like talking with just because i miss out on post count.

Jesus if everyone on the whitelist gave £1 it would pay for the server for 6 months. As per briefing what's actually happend some track has been washed away what else?

tracks washed away, twice( greg's). houses burnt down . buildings intentionally flooded (emma's church, sunlitsix's house in new foundland).the usual griefy stuff.

The server is down whilst I figure out what is happening.

As people seem to be ok with the idea of paying for a server then that's great. The difficulty will be setting the monthly payments at a level that means griefers won't be willing to pay it but aren't too steep. Extra payments from members also opens up opportunities to take extra guaranteed CPU/RAM usage from Multiplay which should increase the servers power and remove the lag issue.

Regards moderators, I'm open to suggestions on who would be a good moderator. They would be expected to intervent in player disputes, uphold the server rules and handle generating the cartograph. They would also have access to the server logs and be able to backup/restart the server as required.

I think a quid a month is fair, but you have to buy a years worth of access at once, meaning a 12 quid payment every year.

I think this is high enough so people wanting to come on and mess things up will be put off, and not too steep that people wont be able to afford it :)

And then, any profit made can be pumped back into the loop of LinkTart servers for more powerful servers and stuff :)

The only problem I see with this is keeping on top of peoples "memberships," what with everyone paying at a different time, which makes me lean more towards a one off fee, but then theres no on going support for the servers.

Which ever route we go down, I dont mind providing an extra pair of hands for anything :D

Again, just ideas floating around in my head :)

What ever is decided please don't lose what we have done on this server it's taken me months.

As annoying as it would be, if it has to be done to get things working, it has to be done imo.

The idea of a fresh new world excites me a little bit, though ;)

Tefal bbhere is working properly on the server puting it on a new server is not going to make it start doing things its yet been designed to do.

Plans for future updates
Plans for 0.7
- Fire watching/rollback
- TNT watching/rollback
- /bbhere and /bbfind refinement
- MCBans integration
- Logging for water/lava buckets
- Redstone torch/dust restoring (indirect)
- Fix logging of 0 for non-building rights

This is info that is free for any of the players on this server to find.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get it on frenchtart's dedi?

This, then get a few regulars together for a larger mod team. Links l4d servers were always awesome.

I'm reluctant to go on Link's current server as I've put a ridiculous amount of effort into the creations on the Windle's server and want to keep the support up for that world.

No probs paying a small fee here either.

Sorry to the guy that was helping me build my tower yesterday, something came up and I ended up leaving the game running on its own all night :D

If you need a hand with anything let me know

bbhere randomly stops working and still lists every edit backwards. when it does work it normally lists so many edits you actually see who last edited the block. if they could at least sort that out, it would be a massive help. i know the radius can be narrowed down using /bbhere 2, for example, but that makes it harder to find the exact spot of griefing. It seems bbhere isnt all that reliable atm, though i dont knowif that's down to the mod itself or it's interaction with over mods on the server.

agreed, it's pretty unfair to take the server offline without an explanation!!

if it's because ppl are complaining about griefing, then just post a "warning" that there maybe griefers on the server to be aware of, and to keep an eye out for. But dont just take the server offline which is unfair for everyone else and give griefers the upper hand.

if you start putting a fee out then im out, why should ppl who dont cause problems have to pay this is ridiculous and will spoil the community that do play.

it's pretty unfair to take the server offline without an explanation, even though your access to the server is a privilege not a right, because you refuse to pay, and so you're effectively being gifted access to the server by Windle who pays for almost all of it? that's a bit disingenuous mate.
