OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Even with the range lowered, it just means you run the rail track through more of the farm than before.

I'm still anti-this mod, feels almost game-breaking to me, not something for a survival server.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Andy last night for helping me to get my lava moat & fencing done. I think we both logged off around 4am :p. It does now mean I can work on my claptrap easier - although I realised I'm one block off it being central to the 'plot' so I'm going to move the wheel ... I'm crazy like that :D.

Ima thinking this is more about survival in the economic climate than just spamming blocks?. After all the technology in the world does progress over time.

I agree, the whole point of minecraft is gathering resources and building while being chased by creepers, if all the resource gathering is being done for you automatically it takes a lot of the fun out of the game in my opinion.

As fab as it is, I must admit I enjoyed chopping down trees whilst screaming at the monitor that I was being chased by creepers ... closely followed by typing it frantically into chat lol.
Plus it was nice when a few of us went on a replanting/bonemeal mission :D - a nice community & team work feeling.

For now I'll have to ask that people simply do not use it. Afaik, the functionality it provides is required for some of the minecart station stuff.

I've been working on the code to improve the whitelisting process a bit today and that's my priority for the moment. Once this is complete I will have time to test different options for the McM plugin suite, which could potentially allow us to remove the autofarming functionality without breaking the stations.

Right, the stations do not need this new McM functionality. They do not need minecart mania either. However - it does things easier and more compact.

I have just built a tiny wheat plantation without reading this, sry French. I can take it down if neccessary. It is NOT 24/7. It is a 'push a button harvest a stack or 2 of wheat and wait for a couple of days for it to respawn' type of thing.

Don't worry about taking it down or anything. I personally don't really have a problem with the plugin (as long as it's not lagging/crashing the server) but if the general community don't like it I'll of course remove it when I get a chance.

ah the plugin is fine as long as it is not abused or breaking the server
it is simple just put in a small rule no farm to be bigger than 10 x 10 or something smaller. problem solved. All the mod deos is same time.

I would like to keep the auto collection part as i think this would be handy for a mob spawner and help make them smaller and hiden too.

WARNING: UPCOMING WHITELIST CHANGES

In order to enable admin/peer approval of users getting access to the server I will need to make a couple of changes to the way signing up on the linktart.co.uk site works.

For now, if you want to ensure the minimum downtime for yourself when the new rules come into effect please make sure you JOIN THE MINECRAFT GROUP on linktart.co.uk. Any users in the group that are already whitelisted will automatically be converted to the new system. Any users NOT in this group will have to join the group and wait for admin approval before they can access the server once these changes go into effect.

The new whitelist system is unlikely to be complete by the end of today so don't get too worried, but I really do advise that you join the Minecraft group on linktart.co.uk so you don't have to wait around once I do move things over.
