I'm confused by this statement!
Is this Tongue in cheek, sarcasm or does your Dad genuinely think it's ridiculous and if so why?

He said it, not me, I know your car is far superior than ours. I mentioned it because he told me to, he was surprised because the bmw his dad had a few years ago got up to 100 mph on 2000 rpm, before my time.
Sorry, it was mean, and if you want the 8 mouse pads back then I will get them to you when I have the cash for tracked delivery.
 
Sorry to have missed this now, especially as my track day lasted an entire hour before I was thrown off. Turns out the new Larini is somewhat louder than I anticipated :(
 
As I said, before my time,
although thinking about it, for the perodua to hit 85mph, with 49 horsepower and for the impreza with so much more power to only be 22 mph faster seems odd, but what would I know...
 
Dayzed&Confused, I think you are confused. You do know that different gears will hit different speeds at different RPMs?

If you redline a car in 3rd it will be the same power produced if you did it in 4th but the mph will be different because of the lower gear.
 
Power and speed are two very different things. I'm sure jp's gtr would have developed more power and torque at 100mph than both yours and ace Modders car combined.
It makes it largely irrelevant either way as a Dyno run is not about top speeds or who can hit 100mph at whatever rpm.

A Dyno run is generally carried out on a gear down from top which means that speed will build up slowly, Impreza are geared for one thing. Acceleration. So its totally plausible that it should require the top part of the rev range in a high gear to hit a high speed. It's far from unsurprising. I'm sure Kosta can shed more light on it as I am a country mile away from being an Impreza gear ratio expert.

The fact remains, Lee asked if you were being serious when you declared your intention to mod the nippa. No problem with that, it seems odd however that you would react like that especially after such a friendly day with good people.
 
Sorry, I thought he meant whether or not we actually wanted the performance data, given how poor the nippa is, rather than the intention of modding the nippa. I was unaware of the way a dyno run is carried out, and will therefore shut up before I annoy or offend anyone else. As I am evidently a complete ****-wit, I think it best to remove myself from this with the help of thermite, once I've sent the ill-gotten mouse mats back.
 
Why do OcUK RR meets always seem to attract that one weirdo that turns up in a ****box car with serious social issues? :/
