OcUK Mini Rolling Road Day 14.5 @ PowerStation (Tewksbury) - Saturday November 24th 2012

Organised on the internet, where to do the freaks who don't function within normal social parameters go -the internet. therefore, any event that is web organised will have a greater number of freaks trying to fit in (1) than events organised through social connections where everyone already knows one another and so freaks cannot blend in. Such freaks have rubbish cars because as they are unable to what is a normal car and so end up with something odd.
That said, this probably only applies in a small number of cases because only some will involve mentally unstable teenagers.

Would my interpretation be accurate?

Feel free to un-invite yourself to further meets if you are going to behave like an utter moron.

I recall my EK9 getting bang on 185bhp on the same dyno a few years ago, but 222bhp just seems high on a relatively standard EP3.

Rich has made well selected choices in mods, runs only Vpower and thrashes his car daily.

10% from breathing mods and good fuel seems plausible to me. :)

Everyone's jumping on the guy but he has a point in that the Impreza's gearing is quite short considering it's power. That's for good reasons, but it's still a point of discussion!

It needn't be a pooint of discussion, other than an excuse for everyone to take the **** out of me, which if anything could be more entertaining than actually discussing the Impreza's gearing. It might not be as entertaining as the perodua engine ripping itself apart when I try to add a turbo...

Can we stop the bitching? God, one of the main reasons about these things is appreciation and admiration of other peoples cars around like-minded others, regardless of what it is, doesn't matter if someone gets 5bhp or 500bhp so there's no need to insult each other.

Looks like a great day, I'll try and make the next one as this one was too far to travel (I'll plan further in advance next time). Some impressive numbers but Killer's MR200 only making 193bhp is a bit odd, have to get it back on a roller when it's fixed and see if the numbers change :)

Nothing ever changes :D

Getting over book... Dyno must be reading high
Getting under book. Dyno is full of ****
Getting what you expected .. Dyno is spot on and I'm happy.

Loldyno! :D:D:D:D

I got under what i expected. Your dyno is crap!

It ha dnothing to do with the loose supercharger belt honest ;)

For me any dyno is always going to be best to show a 'before and after', on the same day, having changed something on the car.

Anything other than that is always going to bring about a lot of 'what ifs/buts' over the result.

Now the powerstation dyno is pretty damned good, its supposed to correct for atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity) and running in a different gear as well (the run down losses will be different dependent upon gear used but the software is meant to average out to the same power figure).

Despite this, on different days, my car has shown the following results with the same fuel (BP Ultimate from the same petrol station each time), tyre pressures and oil levels checked to be correct beforehand, and with the same set of modifications:

201bhp - first run after getting the MR200 kit, run in fifth gear (Rich operating the dyno).

194 bhp - second run some time later, run in fourth gear (Andy operating the dyno)

190bhp - third run yesterday, fourth gear, again Andy operating the dyno.

Now nothing has broken that I'm aware of, the car feels largely the same, which does make me wonder whats going on .

Yesterday I was waiting a long time outside idling before going on the dyno, I thought I was going after the Monaro but the audi quattro went first and I was sat outside idling for ages, so heatsoak may be a small factor in a low figure - but then does the dyno measure intake temp as recorded by the car and read back from the OBD kit, or does it just measure atmospheric temperature from a sensor somewhere in/near the dyno suite?

Now the more I think about I am tempted to take my inlet manifold off, to see if its getting full of oil gunk or similar! Mountune have come up with a revised breather setup since I had their tuning package put on my car, to try and reduce oil consumption due to the new inlet sucking more air/oil in from the crankcase. Cleaning the ISCV and throttle body would not hurt either.

Anyway, I said yesterday that I'm not going to run again, since I lose 5bhp with every go! :D

Yes its modded, via Seven Valley Motorsport in Telford - now I'm not sure exactly what has been modified, but from what people were discussing yesterday and from what I could see its definitely had exhaust mods, presumably some kind of remap, and also a gearbox mod to help it better cope with the increased power output.
