OcUK Motorbike Meet 2012 *Interest and ideas*

clocks go FORWARD 1 hour for BST ;)

so 17:00 on Saturday is then 18:00 on Sunday.. therefore 1 extra hour of daylight

Damn it. Since you never quoted me I should edit my posts and say wtf you on about but no, I shall leave my retardedness for all to see :D

Good times, I have a few things to do to the bike this weekend, a proper wash, mini service, aka oil top up, chain maint, possibly run down to get my suspension setup.

The one thing that might effect me is my new leathers are still VERY stiff and cause a large amount of tightness and eventually pain under my knees.

I am going to soak them in leather conditioner again tonight, but I think I will need at least another 30 hours in them until they start to properly break in :(

**** looks like I am unlikely to make this now on the Saturday at least :(
It is the new girlfriends birthday on the 24th.... Gutted because I will be getting a new bike within the next 2-3 weeks hopefully! I will see if I can do the ride up to reading in the morning to meet some of you guys and what not.

What leathers did you get?

I'm fitting a new set of Pirelli Rosso Corsa's this weekend ready for my trackday on the 11th. Should be nicely scrubbed in for the meet :D

@Fireskull - that sucks! stick her on the back :D

EDIT: What bike is it? :P

Very nice! I was torn between a set of BKS and Alpinestars, I went for the Alpinestars in the end as they seemed to fit my shape better. Do love the BKS though :D

I would have thought they would be getting close to worn in though after 5 hours, mine hardly took any time from being 'slightly to tight' to 'just right'.

Let me know how you get on with the Rosso Corsa's! been out of the game for a while now so need to brush up on what tyres are good for what, love Pirelli's though and especially the old Corsa 3's

Haha I will suggest that, but its early day's yet, I don't think she knows how bike mad I am yet :D
Oh and 100% going to be a K5/6 Suzuki GSXR 1000, so much bike for the money at the moment, I am just waiting for the perfect colour/modifications combination to come along ;)

I'm running Corsa 3's ATM, so I will let you know the difference in performance. I was always a Michelin 2CT man before the Pirelli's (they came with this bike) but I have to say I am loving them.

Good choice with the K5/6 1000, from what i read it's a great bike, like you say its hard to beat in terms of bang for buck. It seems to have legendary status on gixerjunkies too :D

The off the peg BKS leathers are nice but yea I find them really stiff too, not sure I would buy one personally for this reason, I would only go for their custom fit and race stuff like my Toseland replica suit, much more subtle, the guys who's suits I tried are still stiff like yours after many hours, but I don't think they have tried the leather conditioner stuff yet...

That would be a great comparison then! Where do the Rosso's sit in the range, a replacement for the Corsa 3 or stickier?

As for the Rosso Corsa's, my god they are great!

I have gone through the following tyres:

2CT's - Amazing!!! So much grip!
Supercorsa BSB's - Even better! Grip was just immense!
Rosso Corsa's - When cold, not a chance in hell of grip, but when warm, on the same level as above but with higher mileage in them
BT16's - Great for the first 1000 miles, after that, cack.

A replacement I believe. They have slightly less tread pattern, offer better grip but also more miles (supposedly) the Corsa 3's are pretty old now. Although saying that I think the Rosso Corsa's came out in 2010 so there will probably be yet another replacement soon.

Really hoping the weather holds off for this meet, it won't be half as much fun otherwise. (but I guess we will just reschedule anyway)

Went out yesturday afternoon, it must have been the suniest day this year. must have done about 150miles and it was perfect, love days like this.
Im looking out the window and i think its pretty sunny again:)

Well I've been out every day for about a week now & I can confirm that Hinckley is Tropical. :D
