OcUK NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 @ ONLY £109.99+VAT (£129.24 Inc. VAT)!!

Overclock via NV Forceware, or Rivatuner. Overclock i nincrements till you get corruption/artifacts then back off a bit.

Hmm afaik (haven't used it myself) that's an automatic overclocking tool. Use a manual one like Rivatuner.

ta. at stock I get 9750. But what exactly do you mean, ntune allows overclock...GPU-Z has reported the change. Unless this means the clocks are always 3D mode, even in the desktop?

When ever I've tried to overclock either Vista or the software I use always resets the core and memory to default speeds all the time. I's very annoying.

Something funny going on, in 3D settings I cannot go into "change overclocking configuration" or "monitor temp levels" The only clocking options are in performance, adjust GPU settings. But is that for 3D only, or "always at that clock?"

Oh found the overclocking tab, it's not on the main page, you first have to click that little corner icon, then the first icon on the left..testing at 700mhz core. Does ATI tray tools work with Nvidia? I like the max GPU temp monitoring mode, I can play a game leave it hour and drop back and see the maximum temp during that period.

Can't believe Crysis 1920x1200 is playable at everything on high!

I'm happy I seem to be getting a decent 3DMark06 Score for a single 8800GT which was a crap brand according to people on here. :D I'd clock my CPU higher but I think it's my 5300 DDR2 memory holding me back.

These cards are nothing like the picture. I was expecting a nice looking heatsink that covered the whole card. But instead it came with what looks like a cheap heatsink slapped onto the card. The back plates look like a dual slot cooler was supposed to be installed.

If it was my card I would have sent it back. But it was a mates card and he never seemed to fussed about it. So I would say the extra £10 is probably worth getting a better make. Unless OCUK will send out a decent cooler? hahahahahaa yeah right.

EDIT : It's the Palit card. :(

So, if you buy this and add an accelero S1 on it, but you need to return it later due to it being ******, what would happen to regard that you've added the accelero to it ??

Would you need to take it off and add the default cooler to it etc ?

You there Gibbo :)

But buying a afermarket cooler mean's u might as well have got one of the other higher priced models to start tbh.As said already said get what you pay for found that out with a 3870 xt myself which i am still waiting for a refund back on.

PS. i would have thought you take of the stock fan and add a s1 and they tell your warranty is gone.

I think I just got lucky that I got an ECS board with an accelero S1 on it as standard. Luck of the draw as was mentioned in the OP. Although this card has dual DVI and no HDMI, so if you're after HDMI you don't want the ECS card.

Having said that, some of the fins on the S1 are bent and there is a clip that is loose in the anti static bag, so I'm asking for a replacement. I'm just glad that:

a) I'm waiting for the Q9450 to come out so its not the end of the world if I wait a week.
b) This isn't a certain competitor who took 2 months and several hour long waits on their phone to try and RMA my first graphics card. Wish I could mention them just to bad-mouth their appaling customer service :p

I can save £20 though :D, and have the pleasure of fitting the accelero S1.

Yeah, didn't think it would void the warranty adding a thirdparty cooler, is this confirmed ??

But what if I already have an aftermarket cooler, which I'm merely going to swap from one card to another?

Very few, if any, cards come with a Zalman graphics cooler, which is my preference.
