OcUK Photo Comp - Season Five : Round Two - "Religion" Discussion

Yeah, this is a problem with the marking scheme... you could submit a technically amazing photo, which has big impact, but is actually NOTHING to do with the subject, and you'd score really well. Maybe the scores need weighting in some way? Though that could get complicated!

We actually had an undocumented contingency plan for that scenario. We hardly ever used it. If the theme score was 3/10 or less then the impact and technical scores would be halved. I don't think anyones shot was ever that bad intentionally though, so we didn't enforce it.

There weren't really any problems with this round, but in the last round several entries were clearly nothing to do with the subject! They were probably placeholders (i really don't see the point in them!), but they still allowed points to be gained :(

wunkley and southy1978 its one single colour border only I'm afraid. Only just noticed them but there's still 20min left to change them if your online.

Bugger, have been away for a week and just seen this. Not that I think mine would win anyway :p , but it's only a one pixel wide black line. The rules aren't that pedantic are they sweet bejesus???

I have however judged half of the entries, will try and do the other half a bit later once my head stops pounding!

Eek, I guess that means I should start judging mine now.

I'm afraid so. The rules are very clear and there realy isn't a reason not to follow them. Apart from not reading them properly.

Just a bit of a bump, any idea on when we are looking at results?

I'm halfway through doing my judging. Hopefully I will finish it off today. Matt says he has finished and the last we heard from Rich was that he is halfway through.

So hopefully you will get the results soon.

Ok my results are all done - most of the paint on my fingers has dropped off into the keyboard but I've finished :)

Things are going slower than expected with the house - there are a few DIY disasters we're having to fix (not of our making).

On a lighter note - I now own two paint covered ladders, a large paint stirring stick and a small collection of almost clean paintbrushes in pots. I never realised how much that makes you feel like a proper man! :D

Do the photo comp judges work on a bank holiday though?

Oh well, we have another bank holiday in this month so there should be lots of opportunity to plan and execute some photography for the next theme :)

The results are all done though, and have been for two days. They just need collating and announcing.

Come on Rich!
