Maybe something in the first post would help saying people can still join.

We wouldn't want people to think because they missed the start of the season they can no longer compete.

I've added a bit to explain that. I myself don't bother reading/looking for new posts in stickies and can see why this thread hasn't got as good a response as I'd hoped.
