I don't really understand how Pokerstars are going to make money from this, beyond enticing people into real money games before and after people play their club's Home Games ... either I'm missing something or ... if you were going to play a real money club home game, you would have a pretty high level of trust in those you were playing with to begin with - i.e. you trust them not to cheat by IMing each other or sharing desktops etc ... - so why not just agree between yourselves, that you'll pay via bank transfer to whoever the winner(s) are, use play money and preventing Pokerstars taking their cut ? Looking at the "house take", it is still 10% on top going to Pokerstars - stranger games than is obviously tolerable (though lower would be better) - club home games amongst trusted friends - I don't think so.
That said, every fifth tournament or so, I would be happy to let Pokerstars take their cut - i.e. reduce the overall take to 2% each game - that seems fair enough cut for providing the infrastructure.
Actually, looking at the welcome screen, when I just restarted Pokerstars, I see how they think they are going with this ... Home Games played with real money act as satellites for other non-Home Game real money tournaments. So, part of the cut is a payment to potentially enter the big money tournaments. Hmmm, not sure that route is the most cost effective for the players.
