Sumo definately does feel easier but still not 'right'. Squats are better for me than the deadlift but still difficult because of my lower body hell.

How tight are your hamstrings and hip flexors? Do you still find you walk around with an excessive lower arch or are you programmed to stick your body into a more neutral alignment all the time?

My hammies aren't to bad, but my hip flexors are. It's annoying really.

When i walk I still have lower arch, but not as bad as it use to be. It's actually my old doctor that suggested I do weights, not only to help with my back but also because I was a bit under weight.

Interesting! Haven't had that recommendation off a doctor yet. Few physios who gave me some idiotic stretches (ones that compress the lower back :/) but some smart physios/chiros. My hip flexors are bad (i fail the thomas test) and my hamstrings are even worse. I'm holding them accountable for my inability to get into a proper deadlift setup ergo lifting rubbish weights and injuring myself.

Need to keep up my stretches, you are proof that lordosis sufferers can still lift!

Keep up with the stretches, every morning, and before you go to bed.
After every work out and when ever you just have time.

I find that if I skip on my stretches I lifting goes down, so they're quite important.

You might find PNF stretching for both hips & hamstrings useful :)

You'll need a partner to help though and you need to communicate to avoid overstretching the muscle and to avoid injury. It is perfectly safe though and is good to do every so often to help improve flexability.

The science behind it is quite interesting too :)

Well I dug deep and Managed to get out a new Personal Best 180kg Deadlift.
Bodyweight still 68kg atm.
Dude - That's just amazing. It makes you lb for lb one of, if not . . the strongest raw DL lifter here, congrats!!!

I need to try some chalk, does it really help? I can't seem to top 170KG.

Enjoy it fella because I'm still training once/twice a week and I won't be able to top that any time soon! :D

Thanks mate!

Give chalk a try, it helps specially with the weather getting hotter and hands getting sweaty. I've also not lost any callusses or skin since I started using chalk.

My Form went a little, as you can see my back slightly arching, but what the hell.

I did it after working up from 100kg, in 10kg intervals. Although 100-140kg all had 6 reps.

jesus! you made that look bloody easy!
1 recommendation, if you are doing 1rm's, take a few seconds to setup, make sure you ready for it. for safety more than anything else, because you are lifting an awesome weight fella :]

Can only echo what everyone else has said and say what an amazing lift N19h7m4r3. Excellent form and you made it look so easy.

Thanks a lot guys.

Didn't expect the heavy lifters to consider that good :D

Also thanks for the advice Morba, I usually take a bit longer, but I was just too excited to try it :P

Next time I'll get that 190kg all the way up aswell, not just to my knees.

Thank you! :)

As much as competing sounds interesting I don't feel I'm nearly good enough at the moment.

This has always been about bettering myself, rather than trying to beat others. I compete with myself really.

I also felt embarrassed enough when my friend wanted to record me. Maybe later in life, I'll give it a try. :)

Finally got passed 140kg on the Squats, managed 3 reps at 150kg.
Bloody hard though, felt like popping an eye out :p

I must emphasize how much I HATE the smith's machine aswell. I wish they were never invented and all gyms used a normal rack.

Alright here's me suffering and pushing myself for a 190kg Deadlift.

Form is off, worse than the 180, but whatever it's powerlifing and people with belt and straps have had worse form.

Strangely I felt very little pressure on my lower back. As such I worked my way down in 20kg intervals to 110.

Then 10x110kg, Sumo
10x100 Sumo, and Normal
90x10 x3 sumo

Good lifting. Sure it was ugly, but dammit you got it up! *fnar* :D

If you want me to be uber honest, I'd now work on your form at very heavy weights before pushing for more PBs. :)

What are your 3 lifts and bodyweight? I see that you're not on the list!

Yes, that's the last PB I'll be doing for a month or two, now I need to get my form better at 170 and higher.

Specially at 180 and higher my form is just terrible

Bodyweight 68kg
Benchpress 90kg, Dumbbell Press 40kg x3
Squat 150x3 on Smiths Machine
Deadlift 190kg

All Raw, not straps, belts or wraps.

Nice lifting.

Just a matter of developing the core strength to tidy the lift up :)

a lot of my heavy lifts would look like that but now have the core strength to keep them nice and neat. Something that comes with time and heavy lifting.

Good work though, keep it up!
