OcUK Rolling Road Day 20 @ Ti Motorsport (Stoke) - Saturday 29th October 2016

It was harsh that's for sure.

Personally my car pulled a crap load of timing at 5krpm (got it in logs). Other cars seemed to be running very hot.

You could tell that Ti were a bit inexperienced at this, but I also think that their dyno cell could do with better airflow. I don't ever remember PowerStation getting anywhere near to the heat in that place!

Seems to me that rolling road was giving a more realistic view on the numbers than Powerstations old one?

Yes and no. It seemed to have OBD integration so could get a decent overview of running parameters (and I guess accommodate for them), but there were definitely issues with traction.

I can't speak for mine as it will still be loosening up, it made slightly over book torque figures, but about 20HP under the power figure.

It was certainly warm in there! There also didn't seem to be a particularly great exhaust extraction system, the haze in that building was a bit thick at some points!

Maybe the only issue was heat and wheelspin for some. The stock Mustang that ran made pretty much bang on the book figures, 406BHP first run, can't remember 2nd run and 415BHP third run. Stock power is 410BHP.

My car, 55BHP and 60lb/ft gains from Lund tune, PMAS CAI, Corsa sport catback, absolute amazing NA gains with 472BHP and 408lb/ft compared to the stock car which made 415BHP and 360lb/ft which seems down on torque but it only had RON 95 in the tank, which I have seen before the lower octane fuel cause a torque loss:

Still really exceptional and accurate results for both cars, the other surprise was the Mustang coming in at 1693kg with a full tank of fuel. So with my planned modifications it would be around 1600kg dry so its not as porky as I thought it was. The supercharged car was 1708kg again lighter than expected though it already has its lighter wheels on. :)

Heat will certainly do it no good, but not to that level. Few years back we had a BM3W event at Thorney's who had/has a great rolling road which always reads conservatively but accurate (seemingly). One of the chaps turned up in his RS6 which he'd paid to have mapped to 750bhp and as I recall it was well over 100bhp off. To be fair I can't recall if it was an MRC tune so perhaps a little unfair in my original chastise.

Thanks for organising it once again Kosta. Turned out to be a good day unfortnately had to shoot off as Mate and I had a busy day just got back home lol. Happy with the results of my car, pretty much bang on book figures with a little increase in torque. Not bad for 134k miles.

Book is 258lb/ft. So the remap I was told it had, hadn't. Must have just mapped the dpf out
Just as I suspected as there was no proof in its paperwork. Saying that, I've ordered a bluefin and will see how the car takes to it.

The venue it's self was good but like others have said heat/traction issues became apparent early on. Not sure why rs6 was cutting at 5.5krpm. Nice to meet some new faces as well as old.

Things is we don't know how hot it will as getting on the dyno. The more I think about it the more I think it was pulling lots of timing and cutting the boost back to wastegate only with the way power was falling off, it was also going very rich at that point as well

Edit: Happy with my result though, 255bhp 205ft/lbs and a torque curve you can draw with a ruler in a chassis that is 1054kg with just over half a tank of fuel

My issue was traction, the strapping was pretty poor and with so much wheel spin ESP was kicking in a lot. I was down over 60hp and 260nm torque as well as 5 mm of tyre tread :D

Overall it was a fun day. thanks for organising it :)

The roller and ventilation system were not great. So many cars were spinning I almost glad I had the least powerful car.

Still was good fun watching all the tyres burning and see all the cars. I did take a few videos so I will post them in n this thread once I upload them. I didn't get all the cars but I got quite a few. I only recorded some in 720p as I didn't realise my new phone was set to that default but u got that supercharged mustang burnout from another angle :)

Thanks for a good day ladies and gents! I had a good time on the dyno, made a really good 377bhp, more than I was expecting. Apologies to anyone who was unable to weigh their car after the business suit (335i) broke the scales :D

Yes! That was a mighty impressive show, fair play to you man!

What sort of torque did your 335i get, do you think you'll break 400bhp with the intercooler and downpipes? I must admit you've tweaked my interest in the MHD flasher :)
