OCUK Rolling Road Day 9 - Its booked!

Well £35 seems like good value if you ask me, I don't think you should moan too much at that. Fifty notes seems closer to the norm for these sort of events.

You might want to add "No turbocharged automatics" to save any disappointment on the day.
It is extremely difficult to get a reading from these and the cooling fans cannot do a good enough job to ensure the longevity of the vehicle. ;)

Anything with a Haldex transmission is also a right PITA :D

Because you cannot get the majority of OEM automatic transmissions to hold in the desired gear to obtain a power run and/or decent results.

When you've got it up to speed and are ready to accelerate on the dyno, planting your foot down will result in the autobox kicking down in response to the demand for increased speed, thus making it difficult to ascertain any meaningful result from one.

It all depends on the operator, what equipment they have to hand, the dyno and how familiar they are with the car. Powerstation couldn't deal with my C4, for example :) - although they did seem to get it nailed on the last run but didn't generate any useful info :(

The Haldex ?
To start with you have to pull the fuse for the ABS / stability control as there is no "off" button No biggy in that respect but in doing so it disengages the centre diff and allows it to run "almost" FWD.. trouble is, a little power still goes to the rear..
On the dyno you have FWD, RWD and 4WD, if you select FWD it confuses it as the rears still turn, if you select 4WD it virtually stops the rear wheels as the power loads up and then confuses it again..

Sorry Phate :D

ONLY post in this thread to say you are going, DO NOT use this for conversation about the meet. I will be asking dons to delete any chatting posts as it makes my life a living hell to sift through 20 pages of posts come the week before the meet to see who is actually coming.

....and here....in the forum undergrowth....we see an early 2009 example of irony.
