OCUK RTX4060TI review thread

Based on the specs and performance this should really be a xx50ti level card. However calling it a 4050ti would just further highlight what terrible value this generation is compared with the 30 series. The performance is there on the high end so it's not like the 40 series is a failure technology wise. I think it can be one of two things. Increased manufacturing costs have wiped out the performance per £ we normally see with a new generation. Or that NVidia know they won't be able to meet the demand if prices were in line with previous generations. It doesn't make business sense to them to keep prices high if it results in spare capacity they can't sell.
The cost of a 4060ti die would be around $55 while the cost of a similarly speced 3050 die would be around $25, so a 4060ti should cost around $275. Anymore than that is all profits for Nvidia.

Just watched the nexus review - amazing that it's largely identical to the 3060ti, and as they say the **60ti name comes with it a suggestion of decent performance/price which they've just put in the bin. Ah well...

same thing happened with turing release , after crypto boom , cards poorly received . poor sales and they corrected it for the next gen hoping they somewhat correct it next gen

dont think they can keep pushing the price up doesnt seem sustainable imo
I think it might take a few more gens this time.Hopefully im wrong.

Sales of the 4060 ti probably not helped by the 3070 and even 3070 ti starting to undercut it in some cases, particularly used. It's basically a fire sale at 8GB, the market is totally rejecting that level at the 4060 TI's price point.

While it's similar, I think it's fair to say the 3070 cards perform better in harder situations where frame gen won't help you much anyway making it a better deal for people with monitors at 1440p or above.

I can't really say for certain. Probably nobody can, save for maybe TSMC's in house materials scientists. But the will and the money is certainly there, it seems like there's nothing fundamental stopping progress even if we do seem to be on a bit of a speed bump. We're probably more likely to run up against war before physics becomes the problem.

Simple, I am sure we can set AI to train an AI which will design THE AI that will then work on the problem for us, nothing can go wrong.

Well we've got the neural net, we can think of a description of it... Just train it as the input is the description and the output the weights for the network and let the transformer worry about the details. Give me a $1b fund and I'm sure I can get something to look like it sort of works.

This is the way, pump it up to the investors, once plump, cash in first, run. We need a fall guy however.

Ah well had to happen some day I suppose :D

It is on my to play list, at some point I will get round to it!

Maybe I need to play it too so I can get some survival skills.

We need a fall guy however.
