OcUK Ryzen 9 3950X review thread

Whilst most of our competitors have no stock, no need to drop price at all, its fantastic value for money, we have 3900X at £450 for those who want something that cost less. :)

The 3950x is definitely pricey but the value is there and the value is better than Intel.

I paid $400usd for a 6 core 8700k and now I can get 16 cores with the same IPC for just $750!! That's nearly triple the cores for less than double the money!

The 8700k costed $66 per core
The 3950x costs $46 per core
The 9900ks costs $64 per core

that's amazing value!

My 3950X Unfortunately doesn't want to do 1900FCLK, but I'll settle for this.

3950X is absolute monster for that money. AMD really covering almost every segment of the market very nicely with Ryzen 3000 series.

When intel launch in the next quarter it'll be interesting to see if their flagship pulls more than that at stock. I'm thinking it will.

the specs are 5.2ghz single core and 4.9ghz all core out of the box.

so 10 cores at 4.9ghz, mhm pretty it will pull more than 180w

Seems like stock is everywhere and the prices are tumbling now, sub £700. Almost regretted swapping my free holiday for it, but then nah! :)

I've just ordered a new X570 motherboard to try it in, since I was running it in a B350 which obviously wasn't really helping it stretch its legs.

Wish you could tell me where.. Id have one in a second sub 700

I don't think it will be long before other places have these sorts of prices, it's not a hard sell but when the market is becoming somewhat flooded with a high end CPU's and lots of places have good amounts of stock across the whole of the EU, then competition heats up and prices fall, all good for the consumer. :)

Prices indeed dropping although not seen anything that low thus far. £719 cheapest can find myself with a quick Google.
