OcUK Ryzen 9 3950X review thread

Was bored today so thought I'd take a drive up to OCUK, as you do

Only problem with that was this 3950x fell into my car along with a few other bits which liberated my wallet and left me a kidney short :D

Just need to put it all together now and finally say goodbye to Intel.

Nice one man, enjoy!!

All core 4.3ghz @ 1.3v

Seen reviewers using 1.4v for this same overclock, so have I won the lottery?

Temps max out at 80c, 360mm AIO with 900rpm fans - whisper quiet

RAM only managed 3600mhz CL14 with 1800mhz IF. I can't find any benchmarks for this configuration - does anyone know what's faster 3800mhz CL16 or 3600mhz CL14?

I found I could run my 3950X at all cores 4.3 at 1.3V but I got a higher C20 score running it at 1.35. Check to see if the score is consistent raising the Vcore a bit.

Using the Ram calculator I got around 67ns with 3600 CL14 and 64ns with 3800 CL16.

Can you boot into windows using FCLK 1900? I found it took some work to get 1900 FCLK stable, but now I run it 24/7

You've been able to get them for ~£690 for a few weeks now, people are just lazy AF in looking around. :p

Have looked around but still don't see them tbh. £707.99 yeah, eBay from £630 to £690 course but not really a place I'd be buying from.

So not lazy but Google Fu not good enough then if there a UK based company that is doing them at the price consistent.

You'll get there eventually, hopefully before the Zen3 chips come out. :p :D

Well considering it doesn't come up in any price searcher or similar I probably wouldn't trust where you are looking then ;)

Edit: The one place it did come up with that is big box store has no stock like 90% time. And wouldn't buy from them out principle. Horrible big box store ha.

£690 today at proper uk retailers. Not bidding sites.

I know you did lol, the fact is though, if they deliver tomorrow at that price, what's wrong with the customer service ?

I've had all sorts of issues and their lies I here about selling HDMI cables at £150 etc to the Joe public and similar. Their whole sales element in store is awful and so won't support them with buying products from there is all. Rather pay the extra £17 tbh

Agreed.

But I'd still buy from there. Although only online with delivery or store collection.

The saddest thing is that for many young people it is an opportunity for their first job where they learn the value of the pound, people skills etc. If it closed down, it's just 1 less place youngsters can get a Saturday job.
