[OcUK Staff Builds] Project USS: Your Boy

I had a really horrible nightmare. I bought the p80 red case, and in my dream I remember it not being huge! It was a nice case and all, but it was about the same size as my verre v770

I woke up in a huge sweat.

You're going to cool an i7 970, a UD9 and 3xGTX480s on a single loop? Ambitious. :p

Gotta be ambitious or else it would be no fun. I am interested to see how much heat the UD9 will dump into the loop as the heatsinks get very very very hot, still not as hot as the REIII at least the UD9 has an excuse (NF200 chips lolz!)

Nath, I found that you posted this:

For fluid/coolant any of the EcoXP series we sell is great as they don't stain and they are not conductive so you don't have to worry if you spill some on your expensive hardware.

Are you sure? Is it a safe buy to get some ecoxp uv fluid? What fluid are you using in your build?

Thanks :)

At the moment I am using FLuid XP Ultra LT (clear) which is working a charm and my previous green fluid was was Fluid XP something or other both been great!

Sorry, I know what the blocks and backplate are, I meant the actual make of the card. Sorry, I didn't make it very clear as to what I meant.

S'ok man, both are Inno3D

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!!!

Finally my case has arrived. Here is the obligatory front on picture. I ripped all the HDD bays and mid plates out straight away as I have no need for them.

Note the black external colour, this is not a permanent fixture.

Now this is where the 480 SR1 rad will go, mounted in the 5.25" bays with EK UNI mounts, I will use 4 (8) in total. I have mounted the rad with 1(2) mount and 1 screw LOL just to show where the rad will end up being mounted.

Also the 360 SR1 will be mounted in the bottom of the case once I have got the rad mounts cut out for it!

This pic shows the gap between the 2 rads which is the perfect size for the D5 with an EK top kit on it :D
