[OcUK Staff Builds] Project USS: Your Boy

ESATA would be nice, but I think you usually need a power cable too? Doesn't really allow you to just whip it out of the draw and plug the cable in and go if you need to get under the desk to plug the power in.

USB3 might be the way to go....

Looks good Nath :) Beastly looking case. And nice rad placement :) Can't wait see this continue :)

And also, thanks for the Bitspower info in my parts thread :p

A slight up date....

Finally got my case! All anodised and cut, lookin' sleek :)

Waiting on a few bits and bobs. Blocks, fittings and PSU LOL. Then the fun can truely begin.

It's back!

After a little pruning and a few days down time maybe you have all calmed down abit :P

Some nice things arrived with me yesterday so I thought I would share!

Shiney! These are ridiculously heavy blocks, my board is going to weigh the same as a small child with these puppies on it!

Nice pics (at last ;)). It's certainly gonna be a powerful rig, can't wait to see what psu you decide to pin your hopes on :D.

Fap fap that block is yumm!

Dont worry about the loop Nat, I've just switched from a 920 to a 970 in weebeastie, fiddled with the fan directions on a the rads and I'm getting sub 60 on the [email protected] and 54 on the 4 x GTX470s oced to 700 core, plus I have the P6T7 chipset in the loop as well. And you know I don't give her an easy time :)

Your going to have equivalent of a 120.7 (360+480) of rad cooling in your loop, I've got 120.6 (360+240+120)

And even though I have two pumps, its not really separate loops as the res is shared between em in mine.

Your loop should run cooler than mine :)

Reminds me I really should get that damn worklog finished :p

Lovely stuff Nath, shame the interior hasn't been coated aswell though!

Blocks look lovely, does the board bend much with those on though? I often wonder about the effect of adding all that extra weight onto them.

l wouldn't have thought it would bend tbh as the weight is so close to the board, the moment is still very small, even if the water block is quite heavy

People keep saying I should have got the interior done but I like the two tone effect!

The blocks are heavy but the UD9 is fairly heavy duty, not got them mounted yet so can't comment on any flex. Lets hope its minimal!

The mobo won't flex as R.C.Anderson said the weight of the blocks is too close to the board to exert any force to cause movement... The only thing that could flex in theory is the graphics card but it's a short (height not length, in length it's anything but short lol) board and is well anchored to the case chassis so I wouldn't imagine that to be affected more than half a mil or so either.
