Hi Guys

Bit of a project from me here, myself and 8Pack have worked on these for a long time now to get something we were both happy with. It has paid off and we are able to offer our fantastic new coolers under the Tech Labs brand.

The Fathom cooler is essentially a pre filled Eisberg Solo cooler that comes with customisable, performance fans and uses attractive coolants.

8Pack has been testing this cooler on some really mental stuff including 5GHz AMD processors and the results have been brilliant.

Look at the temperature results on a 5ghz and CPU. That result was the only cooler able to stop this throttling and we tried all of the air coolers in 8packs office. Brilliant cooler.

Put simply, these trounce any off the shelf LCS

I'm glad you all like the sound of these.

I think one with pastel white coolant and white corsair rings on the fans would look swish.

If these are successful, I will start adding more radiator options and consider offering a 140mm version

the price is high, but add the cost of the individual parts to your basket and it works out better.

liquid on your hardware is bad, regardless of if it is conductive or not.

I am doing a small instruction sheet to ship with each unit that explains simple maintenance and the checks that each customer needs to carry out before installation.

Its pretty simple stuff but we are just aiming to make it as easy as possible.

as for those guys talking about the price.

This product was never and will never be a competitor for a H100. the single 120mm version of the Fathom cooler is better than a h100i.

check the 5GHz AMD runs i posted in the OP, expecting a h100 to be able to achieve that is... unrealistic.

Hi rjkoneill, will you be doing some kits with customisable tubing? I think that is one of the biggest complaints about the all in ones, and also I have a friend who wants to do a Yellow themed build, but doesn't want a full loop.

choosing the mayhems pastel yellow would look good. you could perhaps ask our sales team to change the fans to akasa vipers also, that would look brilliant.

I have no idea what the difference is between the radiators on the 240mm one as well as the coolant that is used. Is the more expensive coolant just because of the nicer colours or is there some performance gain?

(Forgive me, I'm a bit dim when comes to watercooling.)

the standard radiators on both are a great all rounder, they are slimmer radiators with a decent amount of fins per inch. this translates to a nice cooling ability. the advanced option, SR-1 is a big improvement and has features like a built in fan shroud for better cooling.

the more expensive coolants are the pastel ones, these are the ones that are non transparent. if you google 'mayhems pastel' im sure the images will explain it better :)

I've asked for pictures of fixings also would the size of the tubing be approx the same length as the h100i as I'm wanting one of these for my 900d with red liquid :)

the fixings are standard XSPC compression fittings. we use these as they are very well priced, look great and are very secure. the tubing is cut to be the exact same length as a h100 :)

if you like, you can contact our sales team and ask for the tubing to be cut to a specified length.

we dont plan on doing a larger rad than 240 as in my opinion it would cause the pump to be inefficient.
for larger cooling setups, i would suggest a Tech Labs V series kit.

The block fixes in quite an easy way. you slot the retention bracket in either side of the block and then screw it down.

it is an all in one system, ready to fit. there should be no additional parts required

the price includes the following:

  • a pre filled cooler with pump, tubing, fittings and rad all filled and tested
  • all of the mounting brackets for you to mount to supported AMD and Intel sockets as mentioned in each item description
  • a tube of Coolermaster Thermal Paste but for best results we suggest gelid paste or similar
  • the appropriate amount of fans.

Thanks so much I'm going to buy one on pay day next Thursday will these ship same day? Or will it be a couple of days

it depends when you order and how busy technical are.

they need testing for leaks and functionality before they can be quality controlled so it may delay it by a day or so. also it depends on stock levels of the products you order. i am waiting on an XSPC order to arrive that should mean there will be no delays if people choose the default radiator.

I will amend the description actually.

it will normally be a next day thing.

the technical department is actually closed this weekend as it is undergoing a massive refurbishment.

this means they may not build it until monday if you were to order now. this is obviously a big one off.

Hi again how often would you need to top up the liquid in one of these?

maybe once when you get the system as the movement in transit may dislodge some air. we obviously do our very best to bleed the system as much as we can before we ship it but there will always be a small amount of air trapped in the system. it is advisable to leave it alone if you are a newcomer but for those with experience, we have no problem with people topping up the reservoirs. i would also suggest fresh coolant in the system every 12 months.
especially for those who choose the pastel coolant option.

I've heard that too. I think that's why OcUK include the 7v reducer cable to help reduce the noise.

the reducer cables are part of the eisberg package.
admittedly, on the 12v cable it is loud but the performance is there. ideal for benchmarking. the 7 is a good compromise but we feel it best to let users decide themselves on a medium between performance and noise output.
the eisberg is no louder than a 18w DDC imo

personally I like this! but would like to see it tested on an intel system so i can have something to compare on, no idea if the Temps are good or not (due to not knowing enough about the AMD chip)

we are arranging some reviews of them soon for you to check.
essentially that AMD cpu thermal throttled on every cooler we tried, megahalems, silver arrow and h100i. at the settings listed above, it gives around the same heat output as a 2011 cpu with a hefty clock on it [4.6GHZ+]

its a three pin. ideal for using with a fan controller tbh. that way you can customize the speed.

not sure on the wattage, probably mentions on the CM website.

well, its pre built and an all in one. the terminology is ultimately the same thing.

I think proper reviews will happen in the coming weeks

I have i49 this weekend which means I am out of office and so are the whole marketing team at OcUK. means getting a review arranged will be hard work.

Do these come with a leak warranty ?

they come with a warranty as outlined. if it breaks, we will fix it.

it shouldnt leak but we do recommend leak testing for a few hours upon installation [the system will have been in transit obviously]

if a leak does occur and ruin something, we will do whatever we can to assist.

I assume it would be possible to order without the fans?

sure, just contact us before ordering :)

depends on your case tbh.

I personally was not mega happy with it at 12v but felt that it was important to keep it on full power when dealing with a hefty overclock. 8pack gave it some real hammering when testing and the 7v was the minimum we could go to, but noise was an issue at 12v.

I guess the difference between us testing in a quiet office on a test bench is very different to one being installed in a case and having that advantage of sound dampening.

Woop! Mine has just arrived, plugged it in outside my case for now to leak test, I can still see a few bubbles in it, how do I go about bleeding it? Do I just stand the Eisberg up right, open the Fill Port and let it run?

spot on. run it closed to start with at 12v, with the rad standing up tall and the ports at the top. then shake the rad a little to get any excess air out.

any remaining air should return to the eisberg, so just top up as required with the system shut off. then obviously just screw it down, do a quick leak test to ensure you sealed it up correctly and then you are good to install.

nice choice on the pastel red too!

Cooler Master Eiscreme is supplied.

But I have a big tube of AS5 which I will likely use unless the Cooler Master stuff is meant to be better?

AS5 should be ok, its conductive but a small amount wont hurt, i would suggest going for a non conductive paste to be on the safe side.

but i have used AS with WC installations before and had no issues.
