OcUK TrackDay: Donnington 22nd August - £135!

lol what :(

To be fair though they are pretty tricky to drive on the limit

Not been to more POWWWAA tracks as the more tight/technical ones suited my car better, easier to drive FWD at 10/10th than an S2000.

No fun going somewhere everyone will be miles faster on the straight and then slower in the bends.

That a full day or evening on 30th of October?

I doubt it will be evening due to the hours of daylight drawing in. By 30th Oct it will be pretty dark for an evening session.

I guess it might be a short day session (rather than full day), but the £139 price is an early-book price, so it will likely go up to the ~£300 mark that all the other sessions are listed at.

Same here, i've seen one driven fast for 1 lap at anglesey before he spun off twice, he was rather slower again after that :p

No offence to the Honda brigade, but I've never seen a Honda driven fast on track.

Seriously I've done a serious amount of track days and been on track with various Honda's, Civics, S2000's, DC2's & DC5's and the smaller DEL SOL things or whatever and well compared to the FWD French stuff they just seem slower.

Infact the only fast Honda I've seen on track was Neil in his DC2 and he was on some kind of death mission and kept spinning off. :D

Anyway

Lets get another booked and sorted!

I am up for the full day at £130ish, who else?

If enough lets create a new thread and get it booked up at Donnington for October time and prey the weather is reasonable. :D

You need more variety i guess. Plenty of quick ones, mark punchards CRX was bonkers at Ccc action days. Richy Voadens lude was epically quick. Limited power means you need to drive well to maintain pace.

Just not girls driving S2000's who don't know about VTEC YO kicking in. :D

What about K20 powered Atom's and Elise's? :D

Those are another story!

Though I think the Elises are very hard to drive quick, there was plenty of Exiges/Elises at Donnington on Wednesday and they were not quick at all, no doubt because they are pretty hard to drive fast.

I'm looking to do Oulton park in December, either the 1st with BAT(£150) or 8th with Javelin (£129), anyone used Javelin before? any good?

I really enjoyed Donington the other day but it'll be too far for me to come again this year where as i can get to Oulton in an hour so don't have the faff of staying over anywhere!

Also i was surprised with the (lack of) pace from the Elise's, i've been a passenger in a VX220 driven properly at Anglesey and it was mentally fast so i know in the right hands the Elise should be lapping with the best of them. Trail braking into the corners is apparently the key to going REALLY fast in the VX220's so i guess its the same in the Elise.

Yeah Javelin are good, done three days with them now, very professional.

Just cutting a short video of clarkey's best bits - will upload when it's rendered.
