**OcUK ULTIMA 7" IPS & 10" IPS SUPER-FAST TABLETS - SPECIAL PRE-ORDER PRICING!!**

Oh that's ok then. I was about to hulk out since I haven't even received a shipping confirmation for my Christmas eve order on the 10.1 ultima :D :o

Impatient? Meeee?

I never actually realised. It doesn't come with a USB port but it has an adapter so you can mount a usb memory stick for extra storage. Means I can stick some music on one if I'm going away somewhere.

Very impressed so far although I'm struggling to change the time on it :/ - mega fail on my part I think.

All I can say is Christmas has been far busier than we ever expected. Normally after Christmas 2 day break we come in to approx 800 orders to pack.

Yet today we came into just under 2000 orders to pack with like an additional 1000 throughout the day, so were considerably behind unfortunately. :(

Gibbo,

Received mine, very impressed except for what appears to be 4 completely dead pixels on the screen. (yes they are small but noticed them straight away on a white screen and can also see one of them now when the pop up keyboard appears.

Can this be RMAed for a completely new unit please, and what is the best way to do this via Web note ?

Thanks
Diddy

I have also received mine today (ultima 10.1) and the device itself is nice to use, it's fast and solid. However I also seem to have a dead pixel and some dirt in the screen, a bit of a let down considering the rest of the device seems to be 'amazeballs' for the cost. Any suggestions to try and fix these without sending it back as its a bit of a hassle for me ATM :-(

I have also noticed some screen burn/ghost issues when having the on screen keyboard displayed for a few mins, I can see 'q a z' and voice button on dark screens for some time after.

Hi there

Just to check, you guys have removed the protective film from the screens, sorry for the daft question but on some the film is fitted so well its hard to realise there is a film on the screen.

But as with LCD/LED monitor dead pixels can happen and they fallin within the usual dead pixel guidelines as there is no zero dead pixel guarantee on a tablet. As such if any tablet has them send it back under DSR for a refund/replacement.

Gibbo,

Yes I removed the film, in fact the film on mine was very clear to see as it was covered in bubbles and had some light marks on, but glass underneath was fine.

Fully appreciate there is no dead pixel guarantee and if there was just one deal pixel I would live with it, but 4 spotted instantly when I pulled up a white screen seems a bit excessive, unless some is actually black dirt behind the glass which should not be there or a combination of both.

Ordered 3 or 4 monitors over the years from you and never has a dead pixel so 4 in one screen seems very unlucky. At the end of the day if I bought this in a shop I would have been straight back in for a replacement, and I am sure that the vast majority of the units are probably been free of issues.

Will RMA this under the DSR/Satisfaction Guarantee, and hope the replacement will not suffer these issues, not sure if just a few of us are affected if OCUK can quickly check the replacement units to makesure they are free of these issues.

Other than the above was very impressed with the look and feel of the unit, and gutted that I am having to return it.

Sorry if this has been covered, but I am seeing multiple specs and prices for the Ultima 10.1!

Top of thread it says was £199.99, now £149.99. I can understand the pre-order pricing has expired, making this one redundant.

The page its self says £179.99. This is what goes into my basket.

The related products pages say £149.99 e.g. when viewing another tablet and the Ultima is shown as an alternative. Other tablets show similarly odd prices.

Also the forum spec says 1.5ghz and the page spec says 1.6ghz.

I am now considering this instead of the Sumvision as it's cheaper but on paper looks to be the same (if it's 1.6ghz), unless I am missing something - also no reports of intermittent touch loss on this one...

What's the order cut off for tomorrow delivery - has this already passed?

Very impressed so far, has a good weight to it and feels very nice quality. Ultima 10.1

Issues I had, the SD card can be a bit iffy to get to stay in place but angle it right and it clips in.

Other than that I look forward to seeing a case (not the big carry case just a little one for around the house) and screen protectors for it :p

Hi there

Price is now £179.99, £149.99 was Pre-Order special.

It is indeed 2x 1608MHz cores and they also have Bluetooth 4.0

Mine arrived.

Sending it back Under RMA (NOT DSR) as it has a major fault.

Minor faults:
1. Liquid spots on LCD, under touch glass.
2. Dirt under Touch screen. (being a phone repair man i would remove the dirt but major fault stopping me)
3. sound is too low.

Major fault:
When useing the ANTUTU Benchmark and watching 1080P Video... Basically anything that causes a lot of power draw.. Guess what happens?
The tablet shuts off, gone dead, nothing alive.
The ONLY way to make it run these things is being plugged into its 5v adapater and that buzzes like mad trying to keep up with the power draw.

Spoke to CS and have an rma set up

In the end I had to go out after my forum post yesterday so didn't order one. I am seeing mixed reviews now, at least the DSR/SOGA are there to protect.

I am thinking of holding out for the Nexus 10, but that is twice the price, and who knows, there may be stock before next Christmas?

Was going to suck up the new price and get one. But after seeing all these negative comments on screen issues [dust, dead pixels, etc] - I don't think I'll bother! :(
