**OcUK ULTIMA 7" IPS & 10" IPS SUPER-FAST TABLETS - SPECIAL PRE-ORDER PRICING!!**

Can you install ubuntu on this tablet?

Without knowing the original brand and name it's hard to do research. If you can install it then I will but it immediately.

Also interested in the case with keyboard and speakers.

Shall check and cases will be in the new year.

I asked the same earlier in the thread and Gibbo said yes, the description hasnt been updated to show this however?

Hi m8

After further checking its single core, the specification listed multi-core after speaking with them they have confirmed it is single core, not multi. :)

Having used one the CPU does not seem to cause any issues with usage, seems infact very quick. :)

Ah right im guessing multicore is their way of saying cpu and gpu :) i've been checking out some of the chinese sites for tablets and im blown away with how many there actually are, its just quite difficult finding the perfect one, some will have good screens like this and a slower or single cpu and others a dual core cpu but a rubbish screen, tbh the screen is more important to me as I'd generally use it for watching videos etc

The screen is the most important factor with a tablet.

In January I shall be able to introduce an IPS screen dual core 7" tablet, but not this year. :)

Only thing we have right now is the Scroll Evoke which has 7" IPS and Dual Core, but also is quite a bit more expensive, but they are good and should arrive tomorrow. :)

Hi, I sent a webnote before ordering and this was the reply.

Thanks for the webnote.

Yes it is a dual core vortex processor that is used.

Regards,

Mark Carter

If it is a single core then I wish to cancel my order as I wanted a dual core tablet, I already own a single core.

order number OC1523940

Hi there

Sorry for the confusion. I've forwarded your order to customer service to cancel and refund.

In January a more powerful dual core with even higher resolution 7" screen shall arrive. :)

Greetings,

I've asked someone to get me the 7" for a Christmas present. I just wanted to double check that I'll be able to purchase apps from Google's Play store? There's a few games that I was keen to to purchase from there. Is everything on the play store supported?

Yep, not had any issues with Playstore on them. :)

The entire shipment is shipping tomorrow, so should be with us Wednesday/Thursday next week. :)

Can you confirm these were shipped?

At this price I'm very tempted to order one.

Hi there

Yes UPS collected them Saturday in China, they are on a DDU shipment so there should be no customs delay. Fingers crossed for Wednesday/Thursday delivery!

As long as they are here for Friday, customers will get in time for Christmas. :)

Does that include deliveries to NI? As I kinda need one intime or I'll have a very unhappy girlfriend!

Really don't know, I am only talking regarding orders that are on a next day service.

If NI is a next day service should be fine, but if not I'd swap over to the Sumvision model as its practical identical and cost the same. Best to be safer than sorry, because you don't want a women in a mood any time, let alone on Christmas, she'd never let you forget it. :p

Gibbo

When you say practically indentical, which in your opinion is the best?

Well the Sumvision whilst its on weekly offer is a better deal, its got 16GB versus 8GB. As its price will go up by approx £30 when it comes off weekly offer!

If your saying the Sumvision is the better deal as it has an extra 8GB, which is the better tablet for actual use or are they similar/the same?

They are practically identical.

Just that right now the Sumvision is the better buy, the processor is marginally faster, though probably not noticable, it has twice the default storage of 16GB vs 8GB.

As such if anyone does want to swap over just give our sales a call today whilst the Sumvision is still on special offer as the prices goes upto £179.99 tomorrow.

Hi there

OK I've just had an update from UPS - Custom delays. :(

As such I seriously advice people change their orders to the Sumvision 10" to now guarantee a Christmas delivery as this is a major let down.

Hi Gibbo. Does this affect the OcUK Titan 10" as well, or were the ULTIMA's on a different shipment? Ordered one of the Titan's as brother-in-law's main present from the family and we're going to be a bit stuffed on the day if it's not here next week. :(

I know it's outside your control and not angry with you, just want to know mate. Thanks.

Hi there

The entire shipment is on the same delivery. It is with UPS, they are now saying they might deliver on Thursday but I am not really full of confidence.

Basically if you ordered the following, the options are:-

Ultima 7" - No real alternative sorry, apart from more expensive and faster Scroll Evoke :(
Titan 9" - OcUK 9" Nebula is identical unit, please swap to this by calling sales.
Titan 10" - No alternative sorry. :(
Ultima 10" - Sumvision 10" is same unit with more storage, I strongly advise to swap over to this.

There is a chance the delivery might arrive in time, but UPS keep shifting the date around and couriers are hard to trust at best of times but at this time of year its even more in the air.

Sorry guys but now we are completely in the hands of the couriers.

I agree, I think it is a brave move to guarantee anything that is out of your control, let alone delivery this close to Christmas.

That said if they come in Friday they could arrive Christmas Eve.

For those of us who are giving these as pressies, of course this is a risk none of us can take.

But over all this, the fact that there has been clear and honest communication is key, most companies would not stand and be counted!

I've removed the guaranteed from the product titles this morning.

When this order was originally done a few weeks ago, we though a pre-Christmas delivery would be easy, as did the factory building them.

But due to them getting components for the tablets delivered wrong and late, caused delays at the factory end. Then UPS have caused issues in trying to ship out.

Its proving difficult indeed but they shall be worth the wait. :)

Guys

The Sumvision's are nearly out and we can't get more of those until end of January.

Seriously in the last hour we've done 40+ of the Sumvision, so if you need guaranteed before Christmas delivery and ordered the 10" Ultima, please change over to the Sumvision as they will be sold out potentially by tomorrow.

I'd rather you guys with pre-orders got them before they are gone.

Still doesn't help those that ordered the 7"

I appreciate the problem is out of your control, but I'm pretty miffed that you "GUARANTEED" delivery before x-mas. Surely, you only put such strong wording if your 100% sure you can fulfil the promise.

I have to be honest, this is the 3rd order in a row where I've had issues!

We were 100% sure, neither myself, the manufacturer could forsee there would have been issues with wrong parts being delivered for the build and then to add on top of that the courier delaying the order.

Basically everything that could go potentially wrong did go wrong. :(

Yes my driving skillz rule. :D

So in short dual core CPU, Quad Core Mali 400 is good enough to play games very well at the higher resolutions of 1024+ on the more decent tablet screens. :)

Getting confused by the specifications so in simple language please!
Ok those 2 are identical apart from the storage. But what is the difference between them and the
OcUK Nebula 10.1" IPS 16GB Tablet PC - Android Jellybean 4.1 /w Playstore with FREE Kingston 16GB MicroSD Card [Nebula_10inch]

Again very little difference, but Nebula is massively overdue, so don't order that one.

OK Guys

This is what UPS says today, stock shall be with them in the UK tomorrow!!!! :)

We are seeing if we can get them to sameday the stock to us tomorrow, if they won't then it will be here on Friday, so just in time for Christmas.

But please remember I am just passing on what UPS say, nothing as always is ever guaranteed with couriers.

They are even better than the Scroll Evoke for gaming on, seems the TN screen has some uses due to its faster response time in faster action paced games.

Infact I am very impressed by this unit, because its TN and slightly lower resolution its super-fast for gaming on and seems very quick at everything. :)

For those who are unsure, the main differences of this unit compared to the Sumvision and OcUK Ultima is it has a TN screen, Bluetooth and 2x Micro-USB, it also supports USB 3G Dongle too. :)
