The motherboard used in these is apparently this one:

Linky

So it looks to be single core (I think it does have Hyper-threading)

I use a similar board made by Intel for my FreeNAS box - Just add in 2 x 2TB Hard Drives and a 1GB stick of RAM and you're laughing! (and optionally a PCI gigabit network card so you don't cry when things need to be transferred!)

The motherboard in the link only has 1 PCI slot, but it's probably pretty similar.

I think the advert posted here is very misleading - If this is the same PC that a competitor are selling (for nearly double the price - and it looks to be exactly the same one) it's the case that has 4 PCI slots not the motherboard.

Could someone from OCUK please confirm that this has an MITX motherboard?

Good question, and it might make a big difference to someone looking to add more than one sata PCI cards.

Also,
The picture seems to suggest a CD/DVD drive may be included. Could you clarify on this ?

Also "n15235" isnt a specific model number for this motherboard, it's more like foxconn's ident code or something. Its listed on pretty much all their boards, as seen below on an obviously non-atom board.

Is anyone able to confirm performance on playback of streamed video please, particularly for resource hogs like iPlayer?

its gonna perform pretty much like any atom netbook from what I can tell so its not going to be the fastest thing in the world, im thinking more of a cheaper replacement to my synology

This is the board.

Would this run Redhat?

Foxconn Spec: here

Intel provide the following information based on Linux installation: here

Whilst it's not the same, I would think the information could be applied to the Foxconn board too.

This might be a odd question but is there such a pci card that has both a gigabit lan and also a sata controller?

I never seen such a device although that would be quite helpful :p

The only option I can think of would be a USB gigabit adapter and PCI SATA card.

I can't comment on Gigabit usb but from what I remember of using 10/100 usb adapters they aren't great.
