OCUK's new website

I had a good chance to test this as I was pricing some stuff up over the weekend and only ordered today, these were the issues I found...

1. The delivery address had defaulted to my billing address and I usually choose work as someone will be in, luckily I checked.

2. Some items do not appear to be categorised correctly. I was looking at a lian li case but couldn't find it again. I removed the category of aluminium cases from alongside the other category of lian li I selected and it showed up but it is an aluminium case.

Overall I don't mind the colour scheme but feel it is better having the top bar stuff on th left hand side as it was previously, also the buttons are too big, I preferred the expanding categories and sub categories.

Tried to order new motherboard but couldnt get to payment so orded from elsewhere. Dont
Ike the new site theres too much going in your face on each page much prefer the old site.

Do not like the new website one bit! It's so cluttered with too many buttons and stuff. Why oh why do companies feel the need to change the website when the old one worked and everyone liked it. I just don't get it! It doesn't increase sales, it just annoys customers and if anything sends them elsewhere

awful tbh, bring back the old one, looked a lot better imo

deals didn't last long either,

250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5 SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive *PROMO 1 PER CUSTOMER*

and sold out straight away "apparently this item is not available anymore" yea you mean it was only for the first 10, what a con

Nope there was 60 units. :)

It does increase sales, OcUK had outgrown the capabilities of the old website, an upgrade was required which gives us a lot more power/ability that you the customer can not directly see.

As a result business is off to a good start.

I've added some sizing categories in storage to make finding SSD/HDD easier. :)

Homepage design / polishing can easily happen and I am sure some changes will be made to make it look less busy but on a whole the site was updated for the technical ability it has, not because the old one was looking bad. :)

Over the next coming days/weeks tweaks and polishing will be done, we will get it there for sure. :)

Change is good, but I'm undecided at the moment.

The mouse over effect appears to be used on everything, and you're bombarded with information in such small spaces that it's hard to see what you want to rather than what's shoved in your face.

I'm not seeing this as a professional bit of work, more like a how many effects can we get on a single site. Sometimes, static is good guys.

So why is it still the first item on your front page? I sent the link to a colleague at 15:45 today because he was going to buy after I told him the price..... Needless to say, he wasn't bothered it was sold out, what he thought was stupid and annoying was the "apparently, this product is not available anymore".

APPARENTLY.

What was everyone saying about it not being "professional"? Stop trying to be funny and just say it's out of stock and remove it from your front page after 4 hours as well.... At it!

Just bought something off OCUK and there was a glitch:

I changed delivery address and then on the final confirmation screen it showed my billing address as delivery so I had to change it again

That makes sense. Looks like a Magento theme? Should have loads of back end modules.
