Oculus Quest (Santa Cruz)

So is there a method of getting your keyboard into your VR environment, so you don't have to feel around in 'the dark' and touch type?

Ideally at least in Virtual Desktop, but ideally in games too?

There's no official way currently for general apps, there is a productivity app which does it -

And Oculus plan to have a productivity suite called Infinite Office support real keyboards, though this may be limited to specific keyboards.

That's a shame. I'd hope there was some method of at any time, in any app, somehow overlaying your keyboard into your current VR environment... Be so useful, especially in more complex games such as Elite.

I take it you have never heard of Voice Attack? Makes these games a lot easier.

Also, you need a Hotas for games like Elite Dangerous. Increases the immersion and simplifies the flying.

Yes, done lots with voice attack. But does little to help replace the nitty gritty of keyboard use such a typing system names in.

What it needs is windows speech recognition integration. There's a mod for Skyrim called 'Dragonborn Speaks Naturally' which is amazing - you can actually speak the dialogue lines, and equip weapons and other items, but it doesn't require any training.

You really think in ELite Dangerous asking speech recognition to type in system "Dysturopistia" will work well? :)
