Oculus Rift

Just got my Rift, set it up with one sensor whilst waiting for my Inateck card to arrive. Loved the Dreamdeck intro to vr, especially the alien and T-Rex. Not so keen on the 360 videos, they're too low res (Cat Flight and Introduction to Virtual Reality). The rendered Abe VR short movie was okay. Not tried any games yet

With pcars it all changes when your on track with 19 other cars and mid pack, bumper to bumper checking your mirrors blocking them off and looking for a space ;)

Check out the pcars VR thread for peoples settings to get the best out of it.
Yeah I've played it on the Sony hmd but assetto and I racing are my preferred:)

The problem is that they sold out in a week what they expected to sell throughout the six week sale (that's why the single box bundle was brought forward). You've probably hit a delay in their logistics since they weren't expecting a stock shortage.

I read on the Oculus forums that some people are having their orders cancelled on them by Oculus with no reason as to why.

if they're like me it's because their banks are blocking the payment as potential fraud, once i saw it was wasn't going through i had to phone the bank to ok a £399 payment for an oculus.

I hope that's the case, My bank has never blocked any payment so hopefully I'll have mine within a week or so :)

Yes, face pads.... (hides hemorrhoid pillow)

Looking forwards to them arriving as my stock ones get bloody sweaty in this humid heat we're having.

How much better is this over the Gear VR 2? I tried the Gear VR2(with a S8 phone) last night and wasn't impressed at all.

Can't compare as I've never tried vr on a phone...what I can say is "immersion". Have you ever fancied yourself as a racing driver/pilot/gun toting robot killer/the guy in the red shirt who gets killed in Star Trek?

You're there, with the touch controllers you can see your vr hands and use them, get a wheel or a Hotas and you're right there in the cockpit flying around a track, or through space...sitting on the bridge of a Federation Starship.

It's a level of immersion that cannot be matched by playing on monitors...even if you went to the expense of sitting inside a triple screen setup. Best thing I've bought since I got a racing wheel and pedals...

its visually a bit better but the reaction time to movement is better and much more accurate, the main thing is the touch controllers add a massive amount of realism, in robo recall you can lift the guns up and look at them as if they're real. In rift you can crouch down and lean forward to look at things or around them.
