Decided to install to drive C after all, 1 hour of googling gave no solutions. First impressions:
Harware and immersion - lots and lots of WOWs. Great engineering and incredible 3d world.
Software - bad UI, terribly shallow customisability (cant even install to non C drive for example, bloody thing feels like facebook in VR gaming reincarnation with lots of ads to buy stuff and highly limited options).

Demos work with my motherboards USB3 ports which was a surprise, will see if proper games are also functional tomorrow.

What? You have to install games to C drive? I wouldn't room. Why can't you install to another?

You can install Oculus to other drives and have been able to for a while, my OS is on C, Oculus on D and Steam on E, no problem what so ever.

What's Borsch having issues with then? Implying he could only install to C?

So as it seems I've missed the bundle am I right in saying if I buy the new bundle instead the only difference is:-
Wireless Dongle - This can be bought for about £18
Gamepad - Is this a regular XBOX one controller? If so I already one.
Oculus remote - Not sure what people use this for and it seems most folks don't use it at all?

So if these are the only differences, then I'm ony £18 worse off?

And I end up with all the same software/games with the new reduced bundle?

He might mean that once you have chosen an install drive for Oculus home all apps and games have to be installed to that drive, you cannot have multiple libraries on different drives like Steam. Well you can but you need to symlink the folders.

Not sure, during initial install you can select a non-default target location like most other installers.

If when you install the main Oculus software you dont change default location, all your software will install to the same location, you dont get the option to select destination on each application you install from Oculus Home.

I've installed Oculus apps Library ("Oculus apps" folder)to a non C drive, but the main oculus app ("Oculus" folder) had to be on C.
Oculus devs give these confusing instructions ( how can you run OculusSetup without adding it to a path first? ):

"To install the Oculus app on a different system drive:

Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command

Enter OculusSetup /drive: [new system drive] (example: OculusSetup /drive)
Note: If OculusSetup /drive: does not work, use OculusSetup /drive=

Click OK

The Oculus app will then open and install the app on the new drive you’ve chosen."

but this doesnt work,so I had to give up 4gb of my precious C drive :/

Thankfully I received the original bundle yesterday, which includes the extra peripherals. It's definitely the best bang for your buck! I'll certainly put them to good use.

Just ordered myself the rift and touch controllers through their main site, Anyone know roughly how long it is before they ship them out after payment ?

Ok, it was carnage last night in VR. Forget what I said about getting to know your boundaries

I got so into the games that I completely lost track of everything. Myself, FlukeRogi, Rocksteddie and a friend of Fluke's played some Rec Room. Did a few quests, played some paintball even tried some charades and soccer!!

Last night I thought I had only broken a light bulb in the ceiling, this morning I realised I did a lot more damage!! There was glass and ceramics everywhere, I had broken a coffee mug and a glass as well as the light bulb. Didn't even know I hit them. And also my one arm of my computer chair is bent at ridiculous angle not sure how that happened either!!

Was good fun though

I ordered on Sunday afternoon and I still haven't any update on shipping it's just saying order and they haven't taken payment.

The problem is that they sold out in a week what they expected to sell throughout the six week sale (that's why the single box bundle was brought forward). You've probably hit a delay in their logistics since they weren't expecting a stock shortage.
