OCZ NIA Brain Mouse

Quote from the Wiki linked above:

"Due to the complex detection algorithms involved, there is a slight lag in detecting thoughts, making them more suitable for games like Harry Potter than FPS games."

...lol

I'll be impressed when I see a device that can be used to control PC with subtle and finely-tuned movements of my rectal muscles, and not before.

:D

The ability to detect thoughts of movement though should allow movement of the mouse during normal pc use.

no.

how on earth would you balance this on your head with your clunky huge headphones?

Get with the times and use earphones, or speakers?

It straps on so there isn't any balancing involved.

Remember how everyone mocked the Wii remote?

They still do, espically seeing as it's another money making scheme to get people to buy accessories for nearly every game, eg steering wheel addon and tennis racket, hence so many people buying proper controllers for it. Though the wiimote is nothing like a neural interface device

Don't have clunky headphones.
Much like the same with a keyboard and mouse, you stop using those hands you have and pick up the food and eat.
If you sneeze, I hope you also use a tissue or a nearby vacant airspace.

You can see which people this device won't work very well on, brain power eh? :)

lol @ anyone pre-ordering this without waiting for release. This is going to be another expensive gimmick, and ffs how ridiculous would you look wearing it. This is taking nerdmongering to a whole new level.

No offence like, but do you not find it a little ironic to be coining the term "nerdmongering" on an IT/Computing forum primarily based around supplying, reviewing and tweaking the latest technology offerings

It might be an expensive "gimmick" now but all technology starts somewhere. I for one praise anyone who feels that the cost is worth it for the fun of it and I will be looking out for said peoples comments and reviews.

Lol @ you to be honest.

Agreed, lack of understanding how the device works makes us place silly answers. If this device works on pulses of small electrical energy then using muscles for sneezing and eating might cause false positives? Muscles gives off small amounts of electrical energy... A sneeze uses quite a few muscles, as does eating...

Any news on this?

Any of you lot got one yet?

I want to know how they really work from a real person and not a product reviewer.

Do you sit there pulling faces at the screan?:p

Geekism and nerdism are two very different things. :D
