OCZ Vertex 2E or Intel X25-M?

I don't really see why someone who primarily uses their PC for gaming would be interested in an SSD in the first place. For the money you could get a second high-end video card and get a much better boost to your gaming experience than an SSD would offer, surely?

Good point.

What if you already have a high-end card and some money spare? :)

Games which use virtual memory, or use ram as a buffer but "stream" (for lack of a better word) data from the hd do benefit. Intel recently demonstrated assassins creed on an ssd and hd at a press event and by the end the ssd machine was a couple streets ahead of the hd because the hd couldn't load the level as quickly as the ssd.

Since there's no difference in fps you wouldn't notice it, but if you've got the money :)

Levels do load a bit faster and there is a huge difference in OS performance. The difference in windows 7 between hdd and current ssd's is night and day :)
