I've only been without my car 3 days now but I already crave it back. It's strange because I can easily cope a week without driving it when I know it's here but when it's somewhere I can't get to it bothers me.

Try being without your car for a month. Cant wait for Friday, brother is picking me up in it from the airport, home for a bit, then straight up to Knebworth for Sonisphere.

Well I'm not rollin' at all at the moment :p

Gave my car back after some family 'political' issues so now I'm saving for my own :)

Going against everything I've said about comfort and costs, there's an accord type R for sale near me. £1400 (cheap) and it's a car I would like to own at somepoint! Insurance is "only" £637 but it's still damn tempting.

Also a mazda rx-8 being advertised at £1500 again around £640 for insurance.
Temptation to say "**** it"!!!

An RX-8 for £1500? Quite how broken is the engine? I'm guessing very?

A RX8 at £1500 is going to cause so many tears it is unreal. There are countless ones for nearly twice that much that can comfortably described as moneypits.

The Accord would be a better shout by far. I don't actually think the costs are too massive either.

You disappoint me :(. Why not do the work yourself?

I guess its the same reason I take my e39 to a garage as opposed to spannering it myself, I work, and have a social life, car tinkering just does not get a look in on my somewhat limited time, much as I'd actually like to do it.

Am I close Nath?

Yeah, I hardly doubt it would be real.
emailed the guy, but the advert seems quite proffesional.....infact looks a copy and paste. I will now be expecting a reply back saying "selling for my husband who has now left the country, I know nothing about cars. Please transfer funds to secure the car"

In other news two of the cars I wanted to see through in glasgow have now been sold, which just leaves the silver ghia x some-one posted on here for me to check out.
But dad was taken into hospital today and this is my last free weekend so I very much doubt I trip through would be happening.

I'm sure you've been asked this before, but...

What's wrong with the train?

To find the right car you've got to be willing to travel!

dad has a more sensible head and is good at negiotating and making sure I won't do something stupid. Also by Glasgow it isn't city centre, it's one of the out lying towns and I don't know the area, typically full of chavs and other poeple that will want to knife me (just for being from edinburgh) and I ain't busing it!

I am willing to travel (by car), just he isn't (at all)!

I am sure other's here have taken some-one else along with them, just to help to inspect and check things over, as well as for the ease of going door to door.
