*** Offers & Bargains, all Consoles ***

Yep - Amazon has the PS3 version for £15.99, and the 360 version is £16.99.

Oh, thanks. Had the PS3 version in my basket there for some time. Didn't see it drop. I do want the PS3 version as have the first two on PS3.

Was hoping for something closer to £12, but could wait some time for that...

That's very tempting... especially having just subbed to PS+

Never owned a handheld before. But can't really afford the PS4 I have on order, let alone this on top....

handheld consoles are a very niche item.

i own a smartphone and a tablet, and i hardly game on them at all now.

therefore a handheld console would see even less use tbh.

i had a psp in the past with custom firmware, etc and that also saw very little use.

imo they are more for kids than anything else.

Smartphone and tablet games are absolutely horrendous compared to the portable consoles.

on the whole, yes i agree with that, but some of them are on par tbh.

real boxing, GTA, some of the driving ones and fifa too are all on par with handheld consoles. controls is a big issue though for hardcore gamers.

tbh when i am out and about, i am too busy to be gaming. when i am at home, i have a console. i just do not see where they fit in, unless your a kid and when your out with mummy and daddy instead of constantly crying and whinging you can just play your game in peace.

the only situation it would be useful is a long distance journey by say, coach, train or plane, maybe even a car if you weren't driving.

but i have a tablet and smartphone for them as well as books to read, therefore i do not feel the need.

plus seeing a grown man playing with a handheld console just screams "grow up".

Really? I've seen loads of people gaming on trains\buses when i'm commuting about. Never really made me think that, it's a common sight now.

The main point you made in that post, and its the reason why handheld gaming still has a solid place in the market, is the controls. Touch screen controls just don't work for indepth games. GTA Vice city is horrible.

You can get away with puzzle or turn based games. Or the telltale games coming out, they are perfect for touch screen.

Anything else, just feel clumsy, Fifa included.

The way Vita hooks into PS4 now, Is something special too. Definitely looking at buying one myself. Although I've spent close to 5k in 4 months...So I need to behave a little bit

So what should I be doing when working on projects away from home?

Working on the project? ;)

Seriously, I think the handhelds are great for longer distance commute and when you are away from home.

My commute is 25mins max, so no point in firing up the Vita or DS. I may as well play Candy Crush on my phone for that time.

If I am away with my work, i'd certainly take my Vita
