**Offical 8800Ultra owners thread** post pics and clocks.

Live and learn, i wanted the crossfire setup mainly for the performance, it scaled really well according to guru3d. Just had too many glitches and compatability isues with some newer games not giving any more performance than a single card.

If it had've worked with games like Airborne and Bioshock i would definately have kept the crossfire setup, just at the time there was no coding to let dual cards work with those games and im impatient so i switched up. :)

Well crossfire in bioshock does work properly apparently with 70% increase in dx10 performance in the new cat 7.10's :/

Yay !
MSI Ultra factory overclocked.

£383 inc VAT ... bargain, I am well chuffed :D

Hey guys ... looks like I should have an MSI Ultra OC on the way (all being well) ... is there a way to clock the shaders seperatley (rivatuner maybe ?) and how do you know when they are pushed too far ?
I know the GPU will normaly show triangles etc, the memory sparklies ... but what happens on shaders ?
And if anyone has clocked their ultra shaders ... what too 100% stable ?

Yes New builds of Rivatuner let you clock shaders seperate if you choose to do so.

No they are still there AFAIK, just set to same speeds for 2D and 3D, but I lowered my 2D to 330mhz in Rivatuner as no need for full speed for WWW Surfing and I run 3D at 700mhz.

70% but at what res and settings? How much fsaa can you apply till that 70% becomes 0%? It could be 70% at 1024x768 for all we know =/

I did actually try it at 550 2d, but TBH made minimal difference to temps ....this thing does run a tad toasty I find.
Mine idles around 66-70, but doesn't seem to go over 85ish on load, running the fan 100% drops it by around 4-5 degrees in idle and load.

Mine does run a tad toasty as well, idles in the mid 60's and full load is usually around 75-77. I have added a fan to push air towards the card and this has bought my temps down a touch. Cracking card though i just dont like how much more my case and cpu temps have risen, the coooler just doesnt seem to shift enough of the heat.

Just been looking at the Thermalright HR-03-PLUS.
Trouble is, I dont think I have room with the thermalright fins up top + fan, my cpu cooler will be right on it .... I wonder if you can get half height 120 or 92mm fans ??
Thats if it clears the chipset cooler, and then its might be blocking airflow for that.
I don't fancy mounting it with the heatsink under the card.
