MSI 8800 Ultra OC - for some reason the box it comes in is stupidly big.

compare that to a EVGA box

There is just no need for the MSI box to be that big.

The bundled stuff that comes with the MSI. All of this can fit in the EVGA box fine. MSI seem to like to go over the top with stuff.

I swear Gerard changes graphics card more than he eats hot dinners.

Went through all the main ones this time around:

2900xt
8800gts
8800gtx ko acs 3
2x 1gig 2900xt's
8800 ultra ko

Unusual for me normally i get one and stick to it.

You should have stopped at the GTX TBH.

Live and learn, i wanted the crossfire setup mainly for the performance, it scaled really well according to guru3d. Just had too many glitches and compatability isues with some newer games not giving any more performance than a single card.

If it had've worked with games like Airborne and Bioshock i would definately have kept the crossfire setup, just at the time there was no coding to let dual cards work with those games and im impatient so i switched up. :)

Know what you mean with the crossfire issues, not in the same league of course but having my 2x2600's not work in crossfire on Bioshock has kinda hindered the experience so I am opting to a single card solution soon!

The Ultra I feel has started showing its true value though as it is now looking like a cracker of a performer ;)

Hey guys ... looks like I should have an MSI Ultra OC on the way (all being well) ... is there a way to clock the shaders seperatley (rivatuner maybe ?) and how do you know when they are pushed too far ?
I know the GPU will normaly show triangles etc, the memory sparklies ... but what happens on shaders ?
And if anyone has clocked their ultra shaders ... what too 100% stable ?
