Welcome :)

Here are my tips on getting startied with L4D.

1. Install the game :)
2. Get a mic
3. Play some campaigns on easy/normal/advanced/expert until you get used to the weapons and general way to get around and what to avoid (tanks/witches)
4. Add some of us to your friends list (there's a L4D Steam Names thread somewhere)
5. Join in the L4D Versus fun!

Most people on here welcome new players so long as they have an open mind, don't mind getting tips on where to stand, what to do in certain situations etc, don't rage - it's only a game! Don't go out of your way to grief other players and generally be friendly to your fellow players.

Games generally start from 7pm onwards, I normally get a quick game during the week (I'm Defrag - people generally know who I am and to avoid :)) around this time and finish about 8:30, I know other players are on it longer than that though. Weekends tend to be a free for all and you can get a game any time of the day (or night).

There are lots of regular players that are very good, so don't be discouraged to find you get killed a lot during your initial vs games, we'll try to take it easy and it can be a tough learning curve especially as most of us have had the game for a while now.

Anyways two terrific campaigns were played last night and fun was had by all despite the fact our team was leading all the way til the end to provide us with the "moral victory" :p

I played it for about a day on 360 but the framerate on that sucks. So it's better on my PC :)

I have a mic etc already and it's all installed so..
Just got to find out how to add peopl etc haha
 
Call up the friends list and then if you have no friends there should be an option to add some there and then. Failing that one of the two menus at the top of the friends window will give an option to. failing that go to steam community and search for players by thier steam id ( Eg. kgcpimp, mine) and then add as friend from the players page

Except for Kearney of course, he's far more fun alive
 
wow im on the list :D
im suprised since im hardly ever on now

but then i do have zombie genocide, got it a few days ago after a long time away from the game, had about 10k zombies left to go and that helped motivate me :p
 
i am more fun alive because i get to display my amazing tank dodging skillz

i wonder how many infected kills i have now?

Edit - 70k nice....but nothing on defrags 200k (how the hell have you managed 550+ hours on it lol)
 
SHould be on later if the game isn't already full up.

Had a horrible time with my skillz yesterday afternoon, but the Pedobear is back on form :D
 
why is it when i try and play death abroad 6.1 most of the time it says....

Sometimes happens if your version differs from the one on the server. Also happens if you renamed the file. Could be corruption of course. Redownload it from elsewhere.

8v8 starting in the next 10 mins or so. connect quake.fragm.co.uk:27018 in console to join. We'll most likely be on Blood Harvest.
